There is talk on both the Iowa and MN boards that Lang has quit the Gophers, NDSU is the logical choice for him to transfer to.
Lang was a 4 Time State Champion out of Bismarck and was a part time starter last season as a freshman at 125. He finished with a 26-16 record, 5-7 in the Big Ten and I don't believe qualified for the National Tournament. Looking at his bio on the MN site, he was 225-7 in high school. Looks like he was going to be passed over by a freshman at 125 and didn't want to go up to 133 unless he was a starter and that wasn't going to happen with All America Mack Reiter at that weight. A twist to this story is Reiter just tore his ACL and is expected to be out until Feb. so 133 is now open at MN so maybe Lang reconsiders. Regardless, it doesn't look like he's in MN long term plans. Looking at the roster, there we're 4 North Dakotans including a freshman from Bismarck named Scott Glasser who it says was a 5 Time North Dakota State Champion at 165. Also a pair of brothers, Jake and Mark Mellmer from Dickinson. The turnover at Iowa, MN, OK St is usually pretty high becasue they each sign alot of walk ons who turn down money from other schools but are stuck behind all-americans and alot transfer to smaller schools. Worth keeping an eye on the ND kids as NDSU is the most likely place they would go to.
