Are softball fields small enough that they fit within a football field?

If so, why the hell haven't we been having softball tournaments in the Fargodome the last 15 years?

If not, how does UNI do it? Do their seats fold up?

They did it a few years back. I sat with Dr. AL Fischer and watched them play UMD. It was ok in there.

SDSU played in the Metrodome in the middle of the night on Saturday and Sunday. We should play in the Fargo Dome during the day.

NDSU's softball team beat the Jacks today 6-1 and NIU 11-2. Bison are off to a great start to the season at 4-0.

Must be that California pipeline! :o :o :o

If McFeely wanted to talk about the DI move displacing area athletes, he should've focused on the Softball team!

Of 16 players, 7 are from Calif., 6 from Minn (4 from the Metro), 2 from Neb., and 1 from Mont.

None from ND!

The difference would be that there are very few ND fast-pitch softball players.

I suppose the season starts too late.

Is there an American Legion type organization for high school girls fast pitch and are there ND teams?

4-0 sounds good to me!! Congrats to the Softball Team! Whatever they are doing and where ever the players are from it must be working 4-0!!!

Nice start for the Bison Softball team!
For some reason fastpitch teams in ND do not exist. *I don't even think there is an ASA affiliation in the state. *South Dakota hosts alot of ASA teams and events. *Mixing some cream from MINN and other midwest states with solid CA talent seems to working well, so far. *

I can see the California thing, and obviously there will be a few DI prospects in MN each year.

7-0??? *GET YOUR ROLL ON!!

How many wins will it take to get votes for the top 25?

We don't play anyone big enough to warrant top 25 votes.

Mr._Bill

Not yet, but we play LSU, Nebraska, and Wisconsin who are all currently top 25 teams or on the fringe of the top 25. *The schedule is just fine.

Beat North Florida, 8 wins, 0 losses now.

Mr._Bill

Washington (15), Oregon (votes), and SDSU (the other one) are also solid teams. *NDSU has a very good schedule. *To clarify things from an earlier post, it's not like we avoid good teams and have any easy schedule at all, and it will continue to get better.

Softball is actually one of the sports where you could find ndsu pushing for votes in the top 25, if we keep winning. *

Are we eligible for post season play?

Volleyball and wrestling were given the waivers.

In hindsight, soccer would've been the best choice but softball seems like it might've made it too.

Football could never gotten a waiver.
