The Bison Women's Softball team has had a very good season. They are continuing to progress into a very good division I softball team. Great Job Ladies in winning the division I independent tournament hosted by Northern Colorado.

How about some love for the Bison women on the diamond! 4-4 at the end of the year would get them back to .500. They have played very well down the stretch after some brutal competition to start the year. Next year will bring more W's against the better teams. Great job!

The Bison play the Gophers this wednesday in Minneapolis. I will be there.

Better give the senior some props - that was a heck of a game by Amber Garrett, pitching a four-hitter and going 3 for 3 at the plate. Nice to see another senior, Courtney Lacock, do some damage at the plate too.

Coach Mueller and team are doing a great job building a solid DI program.

I don't know if this is the 'official' ncaa rpi ratings, but here's an interesting link

http://www.warrennolan.com/softball/2006/rpi

Bison currently 176...not too shabby *(finished at 195 in 2005)
SDSU 226 (classified as non-DI in 2005)
275 total DI teams

Bison Strength of schedule is 183, SDSU is 216

Mid-Con rpi rank is 27 out of 31

Meaning? Can they win in the conference?

The winner of the Mid-Con, with a regional bid is Southern Utah with an RPI of 164 and an SOS of 210. The Bison are sitting just below in RPI with a stronger SOS. The Mid-Con is not that strong as indicated by the conference RPI and the members may not venture out to play the big schools. NDSU has done nothing but play a tough schedule, and should continue to do so. The Bison could win this conference. ;D
