Twin Cities All-Metro Shortstop Matt Mossey Signs Letter of Intent

FARGO, ND--Coon Rapids High School’s MATT MOSSEY has signed a National Letter of Intent to play baseball at North Dakota State University.
Bison head coach Mitch McLeod made the announcement today.
Mossey, 5-foot-9 and 165 pounds, made the Twin Cities area All-Metro first team last spring.
“Signing Matt is big for the NDSU baseball program,” McLeod said. “He is one of the top shortstops, if not the best shortstop in the state of Minnesota.”
Mossey’s statistics include five home runs, 24 RBIs and 25 runs scored in 20 high school games last year with Coon Rapids.
McLeod said Mossey could make an immediate impact in the Bison lineup in his first year at NDSU with the departure of senior Jeremiah Piepkorn after the upcoming 2004 season.
The Bison begin play Feb. 27 at the CMSU Challenge in Warrensburg, MO, where NDSU will play Central Region powers Winona State, Fort Hays State and Central Missouri State, the defending national champion.
