Anybody know how the alumni game/weekend went? I couldn't make it up this year and I'm curious because I haven't seen anything about it anywhere.

Just a quick recap for those that couldn't make it out...

Alumni Starting Line-up:
C - Tony Richards
1B - Jeremy Oligmueller
2B - Chris Baso
3B - Ryan Perrault
SS - Jeremiah Piepkorn
LF - Sam Rothstein
CF - Steve Frey
RF - Todd Fuller
SP - Blair Tweet

The game got off to a rough start, with Tweeter on the mound throwing nothing but knucks and Sam running around LF looking for a road map. So we gave up 3 in the first, Tweeter had to be pulled with one out and Gronwold came in to close out the first inning. Then the alumni went with Northern League Rookie Pitcher of the Year Goltz to throw 3 solid innings. Then it was pitch by community with Peschel closing out the door...
The alumni ended up losing the game 5-4 or 6-5....everything was a little bit of a blur by then! All in all, the current SU team looked solid...a big improvement in their pitching staff from last year but didn't show too much on the offensive side of things.

When you really think about it, they should have crushed us...or maybe we're just that good! Maybe next year Wags.....

The beer was good...beer is always good! We didn't do ourselves in this year, like years in the past! I think there's more motivation to come out there and play hard now that the guys on the other side of the field are DI!
