A very impressive start by the Lady Bison. They went 4-0 over the weekend, including wins over the #5 and #14 teams in the nation.

NDSU lands Iowa prep

North Dakota State got a head start on its 2004 volleyball recruiting class. Emily Luensmann, a 5-foot-10 setter from Dubuque, Iowa, said she gave NDSU a verbal commitment.

Luensmann was a second-team Class 4A all-state selection as a junior last year. Her team, Dubuque Hempstead High, is currently ranked second in the state.

Luensmann said she picked NDSU over Villanova, the University of Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Winthrop College (S.C.) and Cal State-Fullerton. She visited NDSU and Villanova.

“I was only going to go D-I and now that they are going, that was the deciding factor,” Luensmann said.

She said NDSU coaches saw her at a tournament in Minnesota.

They play USD tomorrow nite. USD has a lot
of talent and has a very good team.
