NDSU @ Cincinnati

This is the first DI game for the BISON Women. *Cincinnati is a Conference USA team. *The Bearcats are 5-9 overall and 0-2 in the league. They have good team speed and like to press.

The game is at 7. *Im sure its on radio but I dont have any internet link besides Bison Zone and thats pay. *It might be worth it though this has the makings of a great game.

Remember that's 7pm et - 6pm central. The Forum has been terrible for their starting times this year.

Here's the link to the University of Cincinnati radio broadcast if you can't get the WDAY feed- http://www.uc.edu/bearcast/listen.htm, or if you just want to hear the game from the voice of the opposition.

Also- for the second time- the game is at 7 PM EST, 6 PM CST 8)

The Cincy announcers are saying Bison, NDSU, or North Dakota State-

I'm using Lady Bison, because the NDSU website has used it before.

When Kayla Dahlen was at the line a few minutes ago, he made the comment that she had not missed a free throw in her college career.

Well, guess what happened!

My dad is at the game.

Supposedly, he forgot to pack any Bison shirts, so he had one made up- says "NDSU" on the front, and has a picture of a Bison on the back. Can't wait to see it ::). I'm sure he found one of those iron-on T-shirt stores in a mall somewhere.

Won't answer his cell, either. Probably can't hear it (age-related selective hearing). ;D

Got it- I've been flipping back and forth between the WDAY radio, and the Cincy webcast- There's about a five second delay on the webcast, so I was listening to that- they also stated something along the lines of "Wow, that's odd. They missed a free throw".

I don't think they draw much any time. Of their 8 or 9 home games, I saw their largest crowd at 475 (against Michigan State).

Interesting. In this DI transition year, the Bison women's best measuring stick to how they stack up against DI competition may the SDSU Jackrabbits since they've beat some good teams.

Sweet job ladies.

NDSU has some great point guards down through the years (Pat Smykowski, Kiana Burns, Jody Buck..just to name a few) but I think Katie gets my vote for number one. It's not just her three point shooting as Smykowski had that, or her defense, because Burns excelled at that, or her passing, as Buck set the assist record...Lorenz just sees the court so well and takes over a game when she needs to. Of the above, I think only Smykowski came closest to doing that. Lorenz handled the press yesterday, she shot lights out, she played defense but she just knew when to take over...she ripped the ball away and drove the court for a "and one" and then she had numerous drves to the hoop where she made the shot. She just does what she needs to do to settle the team.

Just a contrast in fortunes:

Sioux women fell to UNO, 77-72 in OT last weekend.

There will be a rematch this weekend in Grand Forks.

That's a tough call, I don't know if I could pick Lorenz over Smykowski at this point in time. Like you said, both were great players.
