UTPA Game thread

Bison and UTPA played an offensive game with UTPA leading at the half 31-29.

11:45 left in the game Bison lead 51-45.

8:22 left in the game and the Bison lead 58-47. Emily Moran is smoking hot tonight with 22 points and 4 or 5 three pointers.

4:49 left in the game Bison lead 63-49.

2:43 left in the game Bison lead 64-54. Bison have been in control the whole second half.

Bison win their 4th straight 69-57 with a commanding second half performance outscoring UTPA 40-26 in the second half. The Bison are now 12-10 and one more win assures them of finishing the season with a winning record. They appear to be improving and played very well. I was impressed with Emily Moran tonight lots of great shots. Hopefully they keep it up and give the Jacks at good game in Brookings. ;D

Just got home from the game. Man was UTPA one quick and fast team. Nice effort ladies Emily Moran can sahoot the 3 led the herd with27. I give it a ++++++++++++

With the way the Jack Ladies struggles against UVSC tonight, the Jack-Bison rematch in Brookings could be a good game. You know the Bison will have fire in their eyes for that one.

Amy took the blame for the early season struggles once again last night. She said the problems early in the season were because she was trying to figure out the best way to play and the best player combinations. Once they figured out speed was the most important part of the game they put their quickest lineup on the floor and have been playing very well since then. Can't wait to see how the team does next year.

It was a great game last night. Exciting to watch on GoBison.com All Access. Bison looked like a completely different team than the one that didn't play well against SDSU.

Hopefully the ladies can keep this going and give SDSU a good fight in Brookings. I'm sure the Jacks will be fired up from their close game to UVSC.
It was definitely an exciting game to watch last night, and this is hopefully a sign of good things to come from Amy and the gang!

I was at the game on Saturday and was impressed with how much this team has improved. Shortening the rotation to about 8-9 players, the return of Amanda Girodat, solid play by Lisa Bue and Brenda Slyt, and the emergence of Emily Moran seem to be the main factors. This team can be quite successful next season if a Girodat replacement can be found and the post players continue to develop. Nice job by the coaching staff and players...finish these last 3 games strongly.

Replacing Giordat is going to be the tall order. I thought Emily was going to be the backup pg but she certainly seems better suited to be the shooting guard as of late. Maybe Hodgeson?? Then who starts? Hodgson, Moran, Bue, Slyt and a post player. Where does Samuelson come in?

We have a good nucleus of players returning most of our current starters are back plus Penley, and Samuelson and Walseth are eligible. I hope Hodgson gears up for pg play. Also, Ali Sonstelie was shining at the end of last season...wouldn't mind seeing her put it together.
