You may have seen Jeff Kolpack's story on Ron Kowalczik. He owns a cleaning business and acts as custodian for the BSA among many other things, including being Brenda Slyt's stepdad. Anyway, he had a brain aneurysm and had to get flown to the Twin Cities - mighty grim. I'm not sure how things stand now, but last I read, he was back in Fargo (MeritCare) and had made some progress.

Here's another story: http://www.page1publications.com/exponent/news/069

Anyway, I hope Brenda knows we're all pulling for Mr. Kowalczik.

Just an update from Brenda Slyt's CaringBridge site: Ron Kowalczik is in rehab already! That's nothing short of amazing.

The entire community should be very proud of Bison Athletics, for having coaches like Amy Ruley, who bring in players like Brenda Slyt to participate in the program. She is a shining star, for her committment to Ron, her classes, and to NDSU.
