I have my copy. I received it quite a while ago as a gift. Interesting book. For quite a while after reading Jeff Kolpak's columns, I wasn't sure Ed was his dad.

I have had mine since the date of publication. *Mine comes with a ticket from the last game at Dacotah Field against Morningside and a ticket from the first game at the Fargo Dome against Pittsburg State. *I wonder if that would make it a little more valuable?

Take a look a the picture of the Fabulous Fargo dome on Page 244. It looks so much nicer now.

But are your tickets signed by Arden Beachy?
Due to a cruel twist of fate, it was his last game.

No, they arent. *But when you see the ticket you remember the history. *I saw it. *But that was hardly the end of it. *We turned to Rob Hyland, who was one great passer and he lost his knee too, which gave way to Kevin Feeney. *I believe I have that right. *

Ps. Its written right on the ticket NDSU 35 PSU 16. My seats were higher up then.

Since it's the 15th, maybe you should send your check to the IRS instead.

Sorry X-factor, I edited your post out because I didn't want to have the thread hijacked, not because anything you wrote was awful.

I purcahsed a copy of this book on Ebay about a year and a half ago. If I remember right I was bidding againist bisonkent on one for a while! It is a great book!! My copy was from a used book store in Bismarck. I beleive my copy was about $20 or so. My buddy who is an '87 grad said it brought back a ton memories from when he was in the marching band. Since I am an '03 grad, I like to read to just learn more about the teams that were so great!!

I still have my copy that I got for Christmas shortly after it came out in 1992. It was signed by Ed himself. It is an awesome resource for Bison fans and I highly recommend that anyone who is interested pick one up.

I am also waiting for the next edition written by Jeff Kolpack....

Don't expect Jeff Kolpack to write a favorable book about the Bison. Most of his articles are highly critical of the Bison. Sometimes I wonder if he is really Ed Kolpack's son.

Kolpack is the beat writer for NDSU. Mike McFeely's the sports editorial writer of The Forum that sometimes is critical of NDSU.

Do you read The Forum ? Must not. If you did, you would know the difference between Kolpack and McFeely.

I do read the Forum. I will tell you this there are no writers that cover the Bison that give them a free pass like the Grand Forks Herald writers give the Sioux. I also read the Forum when Ed Kolpack covered the Bison and his stories were much more supportive of Bison athletics than Jeff Kolpack's have been. A few years back I remember checking his background to see if he graduated from the school to the north. Since the division I move his stories have improved but he still looks at the Bison with the glass half empty instead of the glass half full. His attitude is they better show me because I don't believe they can do it, where he dad always said the Bison will do it because they always have.

McFeely is not exactly the best sports writer going for Bison athletics, but on the same token, I can kind of see what kchats is talking about with Kolpack. He has written some fairly critical columns instead of supporting the Bison to its fullest.

Kolpack might not be the tool that the sports writers are for some other schools, but I would hardly call him critical of NDSU. Here's all the NDSU The Forum articles dating back to 2002- http://www.bisonzone.com/index.cfm?page=article_list

Could someone please show me where Jeff is being critical of NDSU or having a glass half full attitude in any of the articles in the link above. ??? :-/

Right on Bison Guy! Kolpack is pro-NDSU without going so overboard its sickening (i.e. Pat Sweeney/Grand Forks! Just liistening to that guy makes me nauseous)

KTF,

It probably was me. I did get a copy on E-bay about that same time too. It is a great book and something any true Bison fan should not be without.

By the way, the last Dakotah Field game was in the 1992 DII playoffs against Northeast Missouri State (now Truman State). I happened to be at that game and then was at the Dome opener against Pitt State. Pitt State defeated NDSU the week after NDSU defeated NE Missouri State in that dramatic OT thriller that ended on the 1/2 yard short 2 point conversion play. But NDSU got the revenge in the 1993 opener.

At that time, the student section was entirely in the removable seat endzone section. It made for a noisy time but the seats were poor. I think in 1994, the student section was moved to where it is today.
