Nice little blurb about Joe Roller, a Bison player from days gone by. His son also played for the Bison and was a standout fullback (for those of you who are very new to Bisonville). Unfortunately, it's not the complete story, but if you happen to be someplace where they sell the Devils Lake paper, you could see if they still have the Aug 22's version out there.

I saw that article yesterday too, but didn't post it. They have a hard copy in the basement of the NDSU Library.

I'm a Devils Lake native and Joe is a legend in that part of the state.

His son, Matt, was in the Bison back field in the mid to late 90's.

I coached with Matt at Red River. *Very nice guy and very football smart.

...and arguably the best blocking back in Bison football history.

I coached with him probably in 2000 I think it was. Then he left GF. Thought maybe he was going to teach in DL? Maybe not. Not sure where he'ld be now.

i went to medical school with matt at UND. We graduated in 2002 and he went for a neurology residency in the cities. not exactly sure of his email right now, but you could get it through the medical school i would bet.
