I met with someone of importance at NDSU on Thursday, January 22nd and spoke to him about the idea of a Teamakers Thunderzone located on the west side, north of the the student section, on the other endzone area. That way there would always be noise in the "Red Zone" and behind the opposing teams bench for 4 quarters instead of just 2 quarters on the student section end. This idea went over VERY WELL. I was asked how many tickets I would be looking at. So please, if you are serious, drop me a line with your name and city on private message on this board, or my e-mail at bisonfan1@hotmail.com, (subject thunderzone) I would like to be able to walk in with a lengthy list before the spring game to show we are serious about this. Maybe hopefully this could grow into the entire west side being the rowdy group and the east side for where the walking dead would like to sit. This all sound familiar? Dacotah field south side vs north side. No more being asked to sit down and shutup, Its Time to take back the dome !!! *GO BISON

Great idea. I'd definitely go for this (just sent you an email saying to put me down for four tickets).

Here are some questions I'd have for them (if you don't have time, I'd be glad to ask them myself - just let me know who I should bother):

1. Any idea on what kind of numbers they'd want to see before they establish a Thunder Zone?
2. Would level of TeamMaker would a guy have to purchase to reserve a spot in the Thunder Zone?

I cant join right now, but the idea is great. I escort my ederly mom and aunt to every game and our seats are easy to get too and we will probably keep them, but a concentrated cheer section in addition to the student section would certainly liven the joint up and provide cover for guys like me that occasionally get asked to sit down. Im never asked to be quiet, just looked at from time to time.

Great idea Bisonfan1 (re: Team Maker Thunderzone). My wife and I are currently in the $100 Team Maker section on the northeast side and would be more than happy to move across to the west side to join some other Team Makers that have a pulse. Those who are viewing this message please do the following:

#1 If you are not currently a Team Maker sign up for next football season.

#2 Reply back to Bisonfan1 and request to be part of the action in the Team Maker Thunderzone at 2004 Bison football games (no excuses unless they are as noble as JBB's).

#3 Talk to your friends, relatives, coworkers, etc. who vocally participate at the games but don't go to this website. Help get their response back to Bisonfan1.

Just think of it. Park and tailgate on the westside of the Dome. Walk across the street and join those who want to make some noise in the west side stands. No more nasty looks from the old, the quiet, and the walking dead when you are yelling out encouragement to the Bison. No more feeling like your are sitting in the opposing teams seats at a home game. Wouldn't it be great to be surrounded by a group of people who really get into the game! Think of all the comradeship, fun, and support for the team that could be realized. OK now it's time to get off your butts and quit complaining about lack of noise at the games. Let's make this happen!

Count me in on this one! I'll be sure to tell my vocal friends who don't frequent this board and encourage them as well. Bison1 already has my info so let's get this thing going. Response has been good from what I've been told so come on everybody... ;D ;D ;D

Is that next to the visitor section? That would make the games real interesting!!

Update - I am writing down questions as they come up, and will try and get answears next week. remember, this could go, or not go, it will be an adminstrative decision if we get that far. So far 12 people have responded with a request for 24 seats, you are in no way binded by this, and we need to get a much larger number for them to even bother considering this in my opinion. For a week I am pleased with the response, and we do have some time. I like SDBISON's take on this and wouldnt it be something if everything came together, designated tailgating, Thunderzone etc. All we can do is TRY !! PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD !!!! - Jon

What a concept - We could actually go to a football game to SUPPORT OUR TEAM and enjoy ourselves. It would almost bring back the days of old (Dakota Field) when the true Bison Fans would make for a hostile environment to the opposing team. Imagine actually cheering our team on without having to bother those that sit in the Saturday Snooze Sections. Count me in for my two Team makers tickets.

Is there any more news on this? Sounds like I'm being asked to almost double my contribution for the same seats as last year. 50 yd line seats are cool, but they're extreme nosebleed.

Yes there is some news, I am going to run down Simmers at the spring game and scope out where the seating will "start" at. I can tell you now there is limited seating to start this, but more may become available after Teamaker renewal ends in July I believe. I did recieve an e-mail on this, but didnt want to post anything until I spoke with him personally about it. More to come after Saturday.

What do you mean by Team Maker renewal? I haven't been a Team Maker before, but I am definitely going to be this year, do I have to wait until after July 1 to initially sign up? I'm looking at starting out this year at the $100 level. I want to buy season tix for me and my wife, do we need to put down $100 for each ticket?

Any other pointers on getting season tickets?

Thanks for any help.

I'm pretty sure you can join Team Makers now for season tickets in 2004-2005. Call the ticket office (231-6278 ) or stop by the ticket office and they can answer any other questions. You would probably pay the Team Maker level you want in at now($100, $300, on up) and then pay for your season tickets once they assign you seats (June or July). At the $100 level you can purchase up to two seats in section 4, section 32, or section 21 (basically between the 10 and 20 yard lines .) They're usually pretty accomodating and will try their best to get you seats where you want with what is available(up front, up high, middle of the section, next to an aisle, etc.) I wouldn't hesitate in getting into contact with the ticket office. I have a feeling (maybe just wishful thinking) that season ticket sales will become more popular in upcoming years. Once you get season tickets, in future years you will have priority in getting different seats over new season ticket holders.

Hope that helped *???, but once again, the ticket office is the best place for info. *

Thanks a lot Bisonguy, that helped me very much.

I hate to be a pest, but now of course I gotta ask, where can you sit at the $300 level?

Bisonfan1

$300.00 Seat's would be section #2 and section #34 east side, or section # 17 and section # 19 west side. It is my understanding you can join Teamakers anytime, Priority seating is assigned to existing members, then after renewals, new Teamakers seats are assigned. Im sure it helps to get on the list early, probably "first come, first served", but thats just speculation on my part.

I pay $300 and sit at about the 18 yrd line almost at ground level. *I think its section 4 on the east side.

Just got my ticket and membership renewal its $150 for the seats and then the tickets. S150 membership level.

Right on!!! it is about time that we take an active role to make sure that the FargoDome does not sound like a church on Saturdays.

Here's where the "Teamakers Thunderzone" is going to "Start" Section 21, seats that are available are in rows A through G, thats right on the field between the 10-20 yard line, west side, behind the opposing teams bench, and in the red zone where noise is needed. Existing Teamakers will be given first priority. Contact Pat Simmers to get on the list. There is limited seating available right now, however more seats may open up after Teamakers renewal's this summer. I have my seats reserved and am sending a check this week. These are great seats, it's a great place to get this going, and will probably take a couple years to get this section full with people who REALLY like to get into the game and not sit on their hands. Coach Bohl wants a hostile environment, I think most of us want a hostile environment, so here is the opportunity, Lets make it happen and make this area the most desired section to be in the Fargodome. Go Bison !!!

Is it just going to be in section 21? If it is I'm faced with a dilemma. I wanted to move over a section, but I could try moving down a few rows and just upgrading my TM membership (I'm currently in row I(?) right off the concourse level in section 21). :-/

Any word on cowbells?

Cowbells (artificial noisemakers) are not allowed under NCAA rules, as we learned with the horns last fall.

I thought that was only for the postseason. ??? Do they still use the Bunny Bells in Brookings?
