The idea came about after watching boise st. and their blue turf and small (relatively) amounts of alcohol.

I dont know if this has been brought up before, but how fun would it be to have yellow turf? :)

No offense, but yellow turf? You have got to be kidding. :P

Marketing Genious, but only if it's FieldTurfTM or AstroPlayTM or whatever else that 01234 recommends. ;D

Somebody cut him off!!! Can you imagine trying to watch a game with a yellow backdrop (much less try to find the lines)

Hey, what would they call it instead of "Smurf Turf"?

How about the "Banana Battlefield"? ;D http://forum.mess.be/uploads/post-237-1103138876.gif

I'd be for equally stunning bright lime green.

instead of yellow turf- how about yellow lines/hashs etc. instead of white ones?

I would be happy with freshly detailed NDSU logos. That was sad last year.

Thats a good idea Hansel. *I put down a limestone patio this summer. *the limestone is gold and it looks great against the green lawn.

I had a choice to put down a softer limestone from the Mankato area or a harder variety. *The harder stone had a 2,000 yr guarantee and the softer stuff 1,500 yrs (for patio applications in low traffic area), but for an extra $20 I got them to extend the 1,500 yr guarantee on the softer stone to the full 2,000 years so I bought that! My brother-in-law, an executive with Cold Spring Granite, thought I was stupid and should have used a local granite product but they had no guarantee at all! Where else are you going to get that kind of coverage for twenty bucks!

I wonder when the turf is do for replacement?

i think everyone agrees that the logos are long overdue as well as the endzones.

I like hansels idea of yellow hashmarks and lines, i think that would look really cool compared to the plain white ones.

and of always at the top of the "it would be cool, but never happen" wishlist....i would still love to see the new stylized bison logo mid field where the fargodome logo is.

I doubt this turf will be replaced anytime soon, isnt it new? Only a couple of yrs old. Im pretty sure the original turf that was purchased used was replaced.

So far, Hansels idea takes it for me. That would look great.

A couple ways... use the Superscript option from the YABBC tags or type '& #153;' (except with out the space) in your post.

TM or ™

I think all gold endzones with either NDSU or BISON in green in the endzone. Then have a bison logo around the 25 yard line at each end then they could keep the fargodome logo at mid field. Just a thought.

NCAA regulations require white markings on the field. :(

Does anyone know if the 'NDSU' and 'BISON' endzones, and the Bison logo will be repainted for the upcoming season?

NDSU BisonTM

In the YABBC tag icon group, second row, select the button with "sup" on it for superscript. Place the TM text between the bracketed sup and /sup tags that appear in the message field.

Yellow turf would definately turn some heads, but probably not a good idea. Does anyone know we are planning on putting in that new Field Turf that seemingly every other dome is switching to?

I was reading my espn college football encyclopedia and after Boise State changed thier field to blue in 1986, the NCAA has banned new fields in hues or ther than green, so unless the rule changes, there will be no yellow field at the FFD

Our turf is only a couple of yrs old. Its made to roll up. I dont think field turf does that. I dont know how magic turf and field turf compare. Ive heard one or two comments that our turf is kind of tough, but not many. I wonder how it is to play on?

As far as I know, the new style turf can't be rolled up because they dump sand in it to give the cleats traction.

I belive places like the GeogiaDome and MetroDome simply cover the field with plywood, tape, and a tarp when they want to have other events there.

I guess the FargoDome could do that too, but it would probably be costly.

Deos anyone else think the huge "FARGODOME" text on the field is too large? It dominates the entire field. I could see having a logo on the 20 yard line, but it runs most of the length of the field.

*Sigh.* Personally, I think it'd look a lot nicer with no Fargodome stuff on it all (or failing that, something quite a bit smaller). I'm not sure what the thinking is.

When the turf is about to get replaced, maybe we could put it to a citywide vote and see, once and for all, if having the turf look like it belongs to NDSU is OK with the folks of Fargo. If it's not OK, fine, but there doesn't seem to be any good reason for having the logo on the field. TheMetrodome (http://www.collegegridirons.com/bigten/metromain.jpg) doesn't do it. *The Superdome (http://www.seatdata.com/images/venue_louisiana_superdome/samples/thumbnail.jpg) doesn't. *TheSilverdome (http://www.seatdata.com/images/venue_silverdome/samples/sample.jpg) doesn't either.

Hmm, maybe people could buy naming rights to the turf or put it to a vote of the folks in Fargo? I can see why a place like the Alerus might have to put "Alerus" on their turf but there just doesn't seem to be a need for it at the Fargodome.

Gold or yellow, it would be butt ugly. Just get the damn Fargodome label off the turf at midfield . Almost every other venue seems to only have a small area in two corners of the field or court to identify the building. Why is the FARGODOME label so prominent?

Make the turf not only gold, but solid gold. 24 Carat. Expensive, sure, but worth it. Gold is a very soft metal, right? Since it is soft, it would make an ideal turf.
