If only all fans, win or lose, had this kind of perspective...
After the game, I had a chance to talk to NDSU Coach Craig Boll's two sons. They were sitting on the bench on the team's sideline. His oldest son was with his dad during the entire game, helping him with his headset. I asked the boys whether they were the coach's kids, and they both smiled, nodded, and said yes. I told them that their dad's team played a very good game, and that their dad is a very good coach. They were obviously disappointed that NDSU didn't win, but they were still able to smile after the game, and both of them thought and said that their dad was a good coach.
That's what football, and sports, are supposed to be about. Sports is supposed to be a diversion, not an absolute obsession.
