Thats a whole lot of money for the students to come up with, and still pay their activity fees for NDSU besides.

Could run as high as $ 1.5 Million. :D

never underestimate the voters' ability for being bad at math!

Just curious what math you are questioning. The poll stated $ 4 per CREDIT. 32 credit 12000 students, do the math. Its an estimate.

Lotta money unless you know a different form of math.

a little less than 1.2 million/year.

about the same purchasing effect as the expansion of the wellness center-$16 million contribution to match $15 from the city and the university.

of course the amount would be capped at 12 credits/semester. so $96/year roughly equivalent to proposed DI fees at UND.

I guess I would support it if it came to a vote, but I would prefer that the burden not be placed on the general student body in the form of more fees.

Yeah that is an awefully hard pill to swallow for the student body...NDSU better own the thing outright if that is the case.

I highly doubt that this would ever fly though.

While I think that ultimately some sort of arrangement like they have with Newman where ownership of the facility is shared probably makes the most sense, if the students directly pay for a significant amount of the arena I agree that NDSU should have outright ownership. Some sort of smaller fee that pays for some portion of the arena would be fine with me provided that students were provided some sort of benefit from it (I'm not sure what sort of thing this would be). If this is the only way to get the arena done, do it, but I'd rather not see it done this way.
