Bruce Shockman and Lance Berwald? Our 2003-04 team roster has not a one player over 6-7. I smell t-r-o-u-b-l-e

Seams like most of the near seven-footers get scooped up by Division I. Doesn't matter how raw they are. Some end up transferring back to a mid-major or DII school. Of course there are exceptions. We were lucky to get Berwald. Maybe with the move to Division I, the Bison will have a better chance to get some height in the future.

The Forum says 6'-9' Tom Lund from Ulen-Hitterdal will play with the BISON next year. Hes a good player that will probably redshirt.

yeah.... next year....i got a feeling these next couple years could be pretty lean. The bad boys of the NCC should be able to beat us up pretty good inside.

I shouldn't be so skeptical. I looked at last years program and Travis Kraft (played 2 minutes last year) and Andy Kelchen were the only players 6-7.

USD went 6'7, 6'8, 6'9. If I remember SCSU has some good size also.

We need somebody to bang!

Take a look at the article about bison basketball on
go-bison.com. How is that for optimism?.

I just read it and have far less optimism than NDSUs SID and coaches. I guess it looks like we are trading Denver T for Jack May in the starting lineup. Maybe we'll be better than last year. I hope so. But still think to compete in the upper tier of NCC and D2 we need a stronger front-court. Heck we've needed that for most of the last 5 years and havent been able to land a true big guy--I know the Jerome Beasleys of the world are once in a lifetime, but there HAS to be a 6-10 true post that would play at SU?

maybe we should search Ebay?

The Bison did get David Erbes from NDSCS, He is only around 6-5 but he is not afraid to bang down low he averaged about 21 points and 14 boards last year

I was running this topic by a friend last nite and he kept saying how competive it is to recruit Big Guys. While I agree the cupboard is not overflowing with 6-10 & 7 footers--looking back with Sand, Wenschlag, Regnier et al. Then comparing my program from last years UNC and UNO. They had good size in the front court.

I guess I still dont understand why NDSU will play their 2nd consecutive year-- Without looking past it---with a small lineup.
