I was nosing around on the NCAA website and came across this. I've never seen it before and thought it was very interesting.

A unit is the number of total games a team from that conference plays in the NCAA tournament. For an easy example, if the conference champion is the only team from a given conference to make the tournament and they go one and done that counts as one unit.
I didn't realize revenue distribution was based on a five year period. If you'll notice, out of the conferences that NDSU has been mentioned as a candidate for, the Horizon ranks first in terms of revenue distribution, followed by the Mid-Con and then the Big Sky. Of course, these conferences may have different means of splitting the revenue among its members, and there are different numbers of teams per conference. Interesting nonetheless.
