Wow, this transition is BB purgatory. A home game against Presentation College!?!? Attendance will sag this year.

i'll be there and i don't like basketball that much to begin with! ;D

Yeah, Purgatory is a good word for it. The first year is the worst because of the RPI.

2005-2006 will look nothing like this because NDSU can only schedule two non-DI teams a year from here on in.

Oh well.....we all knew it would be ugly!! It is well worth it for all the upcoming years of excitement....this is only one season.

Yeah, the home schedule sucks. But as a whole, I think this is far more interesting than the same old schedule we've always played. I mean, come on, look at all the DI schools on there! Unfortunately I won't be able to go to any (probably) of those, but I'm going to go to more home games than I have in a long time as a show of support to the team. The doors are beginning to open on a whole new world for Bison athletics.

i was thinking we should have a city-slickers, cow-poke thing associated with the manhattan game

Bison_Kent

This was roughly the kind of schedule I antisipated. Getting 10 DI games anywhere is a plus since the Bison count as a DII opponent yet this year.

I will be going to the K-State game!! It is about an hour's drive from where I am at.

What's up with NDSU's women's schedule?
Looks like Amy is trying to protect her won/lost record!

I think Amy is working on the bigger fish, and they don't want to play until NDSU is an RPI counter.

The toughest player that the Bison Women will play this year with be TCU's 6'4" AA candidate Sandra Irvin. She is one of the leading shot blockers in the nation and is a beast down low. Danni, Leah, and Brandee will have their hands full against her.

I've got news for you the scheduling work is over. SDSU has 30 games, 16 of which are DI schools. Included are Rutgers, Kentucky, Alabama, Oregon State, USC Trojans, Oklahoma State, Texas State, Purdue. Some pretty big fish willing to play SDSU!

I'm impressed with SDSU's schedule.....they'll get their asses handed to them plenty but that which doesn't kill you makes you stronger....

Still...I'll put my money on the Bison to clean Bunny Clock next year.

Next year? What about this year? The Jacks will handle the Bison twice as will the "other two" DI teams. NDSU will beat all 5 NAIA schools and 18 of the 20 DII schools.

Amy will claim a victorious entry into DI with a record of 23-6! Whoop de dooo! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I think you just came here to smack. Just because someone else prefers to treat the transition year different than your team, doesn't mean it's worse. Amy has earned the right IMO, to phase into DI any way she wants.

Sounds about right, BisonMav...but it's not credible smack...making the claim that SDSU is going to be tougher than TCU illustrates this person is quite clueless when it comes to WCBB.

Miles is in talks with Colorado State, and Wisconsin is supposedly a question of 'When', not 'If' (at least for a road game).

All DI teams on the men's schedule will be making return trips to Fargo in the future.

Bisonguy

The women will host Alabama (University, not the band) at the BSA next year. Also, the Gophers will be on the schedule (away game), and are rumored to be an annual opponent.

WYOBISONMAN

Anything with the Gophers will be a great game and draw fans.

scottheck

I think the Gophers was a matter of time and fitting into their schedule. With all the transplanted NoDaks, and the thousands of alums, the U sees the marketing bonanza.

We support our teams and would come out in droves to see those games. I'd drive up from Rochester to see my first UofM women's game.

While we wouldn't be the competition of the Badgers(yet), it could have a similar popularity among the fans.

First game in the Fargodome??-

Bison head coach Amy Ruley said Minnesota officials told her they would return to Fargo the following year.

Here's the whole article with mention of the Alabama game, Minnesota, Ball State, and Montana.

Miles is currently on Prime Time sports and gave some insight to scheduling this year. The lack of DI games is from not taking any guarantee games, only home/homes and 2home/home contracts.

He stated there are already 12 home games scheduled for next year, 10 of which are DI teams.

From the forum on 1/26:

Tim Miles has already scheduled 22 of the 25 required DI games for the 2005-2006 season.

Thank goodness. I can't wait for this hodge-podge men's season to be over with. I think everyone has been frustrated with the lack of quality players and quality games.

I just really hope that our 13 scholarships will be used properly next year...no problem with the 5 redshirts this year and the 3 new signees, but those remaining 5 need to be earned. Phil Hahn and Brandon Smith are ok, and the walk-on Dotun Obadina can at least play defense. Matt Gerber and Andrew Brown have shown nothing to deserve a scholarship...anyone know if they are currently receiving one? If they are, I hope Miles can/will sign and give 2 new recruits their scholarships.

Are the only possibilities for DI home games next year, the teams we played on the road this year?

JACKGUYII

From what I understand yes which is why the Bison women's team would have been better off playing more DI games this year and getting return games next year.

It's possible next year to have a front end home/home, especially seeing as how NDSU will be an RPI qualifier. The men didn't take any guarantee games like SDSU, all the DI teams on NDSU's schedule have a return trip.

No, its definitely NOT a requirement to play a team at their place before they would come to ours. Alabama and Tennessee women are supposely on the Bison women's home schedule next season.
