Will the other Mertens go DI?

Just got home from the EDC championship game at the BSA. Fargo South beat Devils Lake for the title.

There is no doubt Travis Mertens of Devils Lake is a mid major DI basektball player. He is a 6'5" wing that can score and rebound. Can bring the ball up the court and knocked down a couple of long-range 3s.

He is a first cousin to the Mertens from East Grand Forks who the Bison signed for football. Maybe that will give the Bison a leg up during the recruiting of Travis. However, heard that Travis may not have the grades to go DI.

I agree with you about his quality, however not being a devoted basketball fan, being from Devils Lake I was worried about being homer if I brought Travis up.

I caught the first two edc games at the BSA and he played very well, I missed the championship game, but anyone who can score 26 points against South is pretty good.

And for a junior, he has a lot of potential.
