Josh scored five, 14 and three points in this week's three games on 7-for-15 shooting. A year ago he scored 12, 23 and 14 on 14-for-34 shooting. There was good reason for the dropoff, and that reason was hidden from the public all season.
"Now I can tell the world," Bob Vaughan said. "He has severe, severe tendinitis in his right elbow. His scoring went way down because he can't shoot."
The problem began to develop during the football season. Josh Vaughan was a four-year starter on the basketball team and three-year starting quarterback who helped the Bombers reach the Class 2A state playoffs last fall when he passed for 1,346 yards and 21 TDs. He also spent two hours a day in the gym, shooting the basketball. All that arm action came at a price.
