With the NIT being the goal for the upcoming season for the Bison mens team, getting the bid will be tough especially since the field was reduced to 32 teams.

One thing is for sure, it will take more than 20 wins and an RPI ranking in the top 100 for a very difficult to get at-large bid. We would need to beat at least half and probably more than half of the teams we play that are ahead of us in the RPI rankings to crack the top 100 IMO:

Here are the current RPI rankings of the teams we play that are above us.

Marquette #28
Northwestern State #60
Minnesota #83
Iowa State #93
K-State #110
Texas Tech #136
Colorado State #144
UW Green Bay #186
Princeton #199
Furman #220
NDSU #223

If I remember correctly, NDSU has moved up to #223 from a season ending #270 for the pre-season rankings. Not bad for an independent.

Only Oral Roberts at #130 and IUPUI at #158 are above us at this time from our proposed future conference.

Great job Miles and Players for putting us on the D1 map. At #223 it means there are more than 100 established programs below us.
