REALLY quiet until the last couple minutes. There were a few other brief periods where the crowd came to life when the Bison made a nice run. The crowd was actually larger than what I was expecting.

2400 when the students are home for Thanksgiving isn't so bad IMO. Hopefully we'll get to 4,000 or so for most games.

I actually thought the crowd was pretty good. When the Bison actually did something they got into it right away... and for almost 0 students and a none hyped game it was good.

Biggest take away from the Furman game for me... Winkelman is really hurting, he is fraction of his normal self from last year (and 1st game this year). Miles also mentioned this after the game on how he is really beat up (2 different bad sprains on same ankle in two games) and how much Miles appretiates the effort and what he's providing.

We need to get the point guards going. Not much scoring and too many turnovers. Woody doesn't seem to be in synch yet. Wonder if he is having trouble with the hand??? Josh Vaughn probably needs some quality minutes against some cupcakes to get his confidence going.

This team would be absolutely lost if not for Andre.

We haven't been getting much from our guard play. Woody has been nowhere to be found with the exception of fouls and Vaughn looks like a young freshman that is trying to find his way.

I'm impressed with what Pennick brings to this team.

Question here about Lunde. I know all about the concussion issues & so forth and I give him credit for not wanting to quit or give up but here is a kid who's spends almost all his time on the bench. Also if I'm not mistaken is getting a ride also and we need big men in there to help Smith. My point is that if he's got to be handeled with kid gloves due to the concussions issue is he really helping this team? I know this comment will likely ruffle a few feathers but I wonder if we had the extra scholarship to offer to a big kid last year to help out in the middle would Tim have redshirted one less freshman? I just see this team being so limited with bench players (big bench players) that one more big guy fresh off the bench to help out in the middle would be huge. I think they rely way to much on Andre and after this year he's going to be gone and that will be huge. How big would it be if we had one more big guy next year with some playing experience to take Andres spot. I just don't see Lunde being that kid. How much is that hurting this team is a fair question? :-/

My 2 cents from the game:

Nelson continues to impress me big time. His driving to the hoop sets up outside jumpers. His work ethic on the court is incredible also.

Woodside continues to rack up charging calls. Like others have said, he seems to be out of synch. Even with his offensive woes, I feel comfortable having him quarterbacking the club. I think he will break out pretty soon. I too wonder how the hand is.

Smith is just a major overachiever. I don't know how he does it.

Winkleman got a couple drives last night, nice to see, but seems out of sorts. I think most of us would be out of sorts if we sprained the same ankle twice. He did hit a big three towards the end though.

Moorman got a lot of boards, which was huge, and he hit his only shot at a very clutch moment.

Our free throws killed us, along with early turnover problems, again.

Bottom line: We played like crap in the first half (very much like Gopher game) but came back strong in the second half and gutted out the win. I think this was a positive step last night. Bring on UW-GB!

I think its safe to say that at this point of the season Nelson, Smith, Winkleman and Woodside have all had their moments and are contributing 90% of the scoring. When they start getting some help on the offensive end this team will start clicking.

As of right now the Bison are a good team. When the depth starts contributing they could be a very good team. Lets hope we start seeing that in the UWGB game. Go Bison!

Don't think it's the concussion issue. *Talked to his mom @ the Gopher game. *He was just getting over bronchitis and then strained his back.

I also don't think he was ever a project. I saw the kid in high school and he could flat out play. The illness and injuries have put him behind no doubt. Also, he never was a kid who wanted to play inside. Loved facing up more than playing in the paint.

I also don't think he was ever a project. I saw the kid in high school and he could flat out play. The illness and injuries have put him behind no doubt. Also, he never was a kid who wanted to play inside. Loved facing up more than playing in the paint.

Me too and I wouldn't nessarily agree with that... Atleast not against good competition, i.e. anyone as tall as him.
