Has Woody been having ankle problems this year or was that his first time? I know if you sprain an ankle once it takes about 2-3 months before it is back to 100% again and it usually doesn't take much at all to reaggravate it...

Anything on Woody? Came back in for a minute then was subbed. The bench is getting lots of opportunity with 33 minutes but only 3 points. When you get your chances youv'e got to respond.

Yeah, they are students. These guys pretty much took it into their hands to get thunderradio on the air locally in Fargo and to broadcast as many Bison sporting events as possible. It's hard to believe that they are just a small-budget student run broadcast because they do a top-notch job!

Woody sprained his ankle...probably won't see any more playing time today...that's probably the most annoying injury a bball player can have to deal with...takes a long time to fully heal and it's easy to reaggravate

Yeah, but if you think about it, they don't do commercial breaks, so during any timout they are using up any material that they might use for the half-time show...

Good point. *Its more of a production problem than an on-air deficency. *They could run some NDSU promos, maybe pushing some of the other events on campus or advertise the University in general. *That must be legal? *Might help fill some time too.

BISON are really rolling. *How many there, did they say?

I used to do 40-60 hrs/week on the old KDSU. Broke my heart when they sold it, but Thunder Radio is bringing it all back! :)

Big time...Without someone to control the pace of the game and take care of the ball, it can turn into chaos very easily...I know our back-up PGs are Rfr...but they definately need some work on handling the pressure of full-court press...i said it earlier, but i sure hope woody can get rested and back to playing speed soon

Was there today... A couple thoughts.

1. Only missed woody handling the ball under pressure. Other than that the team did very well without him. Lots of practice for Vaughn and Pennick which was very good and we need them to be able to get experience if we ever have a chance at making noise eventually.
2. Nelson was on fire in the first half, couldn't miss.
3. Moorman play much better than the previous game.
4. Winklemens ankle looks to be getting better, he was moving more freely and less worried about it this game. Played a solid game for him coming off the injury.
5. Nice game for Andre.
6. The biggest thing about this game... We were BIGGER than the oppostion for once. Which help translate into good game for Moorman.
7. Riley had nice active and energy game again.
8. Need someone to bring an "attitude" next year when Dre is gone.

Moorman played excellent...three power dunks and was fouled on the 4th dunk. Woody tried to play on his ankle, but took himself out. We need him for next weekend. Nelson continues to be the man! He has been unbelievable on offense. Andre and Winkleman both played solid games as well. Once Woody left the game, we clearly lost his ball handling.....I don't know the exact stats but last I saw we had 18 turnovers to their 11. Josh Vaughn needs to step up his game. He has major talent and needs to play better for us to win the big games. When he gets comfortable, we are going to be tough. He is a great shooter and over time...he will be a solid 6th man off the bench.

Sorry GoBison All-Access got the best of you today. *Sounds like you had game within a game to deal with today. *At least the Bison won today....so you are 1-1 for the day.

I had a good time at the game today. I was visiting my parents, so I took the opportunity to attend the game. My dad and brother, both NDSU alumni went with me. It was about a 2 hour drive from Erskine, and a two hour drive after the game. The hot dogs at the BSA were quite good - only $1.50 for a hot dog at a ball game? Heck of a deal. :)

I like that idea. A hot dog that that is made out of meat! The hot dogs at the Metrodome, however, are definately made of some sort of animal. "Meat" would be an overly ambitious description. Good hot dogs, at a good price at the BSA. Cloverdale sounds like a sponsor you can support both because they support the Bison and because they are good. I didn't even need ketchup or mustard.

Plus $10 for a D-I college game is a good deal too.

Ok, I got one the first game from the concessions down on the floor. I don't think that one was, as it was actually burnt and didn't taste anything like Cloverdale. Perhaps upstairs concessions or they were switched after the first game.

5. Nice game for Andre.

Didn't look like he had a terrible case of the flu yesterday, did it? Great game Dre! How about Nelson jumping out for the loose ball, falling and skidding hard on his hip, popping up again and diving hard again to toss the ball to the opening gu who gets the transition layup. Now thats sacrificing the body! :)

I can tell you this and I don't know what it means. BUT, at the dome, the concessions are handled by the Dome, the concessions at the BSA and BBFH are handled by food services of NDSU. I know this because after a volleyball game the next morning when I am teaching in the gym, food services come in and collects the left over pops and throws out the left over hot dogs. I asked them and they said they do the BSA too, but the Dome handles the Football games. So, I guess I am saying it is possible that they each use different kinds of hot dogs, although I have no clue. :)

A few obvious observations from the game about NDSU's point guard situation. NDSU does not have a true point guard outside of Woody at all. Vaughn is way too uncomfertable handling the ball right now and has way too many turnovers. He seems like he would be a lot more comfertable at the 2 versus the 1. I thought Pennick looked more comfertable then Vaughn handling the ball, but Pennick struggles to make the basic pass at times. He atleast appears to potentially be able to handle the pressure at the point. If Woody is out an extended period of time, you almost have to look at Mike running the show though. He atleast looks like he's comfertable with the pressure. When the Bison play someone that goes with a full court press and they don't have Woody, they are in serious serious trouble.

I was right behind the bench after Woody rolled his ankle and it swelled up immediately after rolling it. His ankle literally looked like it had an apple petruding from it. I was quite suprized that he even attempted to go back in the game, but then again it says a lot about his character. His ankle was also swelled up the second time, he couldn't even get his foot to fit in his shoe. Hopefully its not a serious ankle sprain, but it did not look good at all!

I was stunned Woodside went back in and Miles actually let him back in considering the lead we had at the time. Probably would have been best to shut him down and keep the ice on it but you do have to admire the heart Woodside has for attempting to come back. Hopefully the combo of ice and rest will result in a quick recovery because we can't afford to lose Ben for too long, Pennick and Vaughan still need more seasoning.

Miles told me after the game that he saw Woody come out of the locker room and thought he was fine and just put him back in the game. He went from the locker room right to the scorers table. After a minute or so it was pretty clear that they should keep him out. With the kind of lead they had it didn't really matter much.

Well, it was kind of funny actually. The team doctor came out with him and talked with one of the assistants meanwhile Miles sees Woody and asked him if he was good and after Woody says yep Miles proceedes to tell him to go in immediately. Obviously its just a sprain, otherwise there would be no way the doctor would have allowed him to go back in.
