??? guess i am not sure, possible that with the moorman injury that we needed some bigger depth, but it wouldnt make all that much to pull his shirt this late in the season.

His name came up in the play-by-play as making a basket, but his name isn't in the box score; so it was problably just a mistake. I hope so at least.

What continues to be amazing is the balanced scoring the Bison can throw at you. *Can anyone name another D1 team that has four guys averaging about 16 points a piece. Has to be somewhat rare. Not to have four guys average double figures but for each to average that much per game. *

Zo, Sam, Josh and Austin are all starting to contribute more scoring as the season continues. *We should always be able to score in at least the 80's with the bench helping with scoring.

As the defense gets better and the turn overs less, this team can do some special things. *

Let's get the BSA rockn' for the two home games next week and really dominate the two teams coming in.

It was nice to see Austin get a well deserved start tonight. In the games I have seen, he has always played tenatious defence and looked competent and confident in the few opportunities he has had running the point. He has struggled a bit offensively but he looks to be too good a player to not come around there.
One thing that caught my eye in the box score was Dre only had 22 minutes given his foul trouble. With Luke out I know we were worried about getting smaller so it was a surprise to see the minutes of our bigs. This must have been the smallest overall lineup we have played with this year by quite a bit, going virtually the entire game with three guards.

I love Austin's defense he bring some athleticism that the bison really need. However, he does not look like he will score consistently at the college level. Just watching his release on the FT line leaves something to be desired. I don't know if you tinker and develop him into a better shooter, or if you go with what you'll got. He has had some nights where he has hit some shots, but his technique does not say consistent to me. I love the guy and am not trying to be critical, just stating what I see.

Yes, Austin has never been a scorer, so probably isn't going to develop into one...

I was at the game last night, here are some post game comments:

WSSU is not a very good team at all. They are athletic but not very talented. NDSU obviously shot the ball well but the defense was not stellar by any means. AP seemed to have a little trouble staying with his man and it looked like it undermined the team D. Sam got a lot of PT and I'm surprised that Zo didn't play more.

It was a pretty rough game and WSSU looked like they had a few 'tricks' up their sleeve. The Bison handled it pretty well all things considering. I think w/ Moorman and a little better performance on D, we beat that team by 40. Coach was absolutely peed off during a couple of the timeouts. I think he was upset at the lack of intensity at times.

On a side note: The dance teams and cheerleaders were unreal....you don't see moves like those in Fargo! The only 'white folk' in the house were bison fans, players and coaches but we were all welcomed and treated well by the WSSU staff and fans.

Just got back from the game...we made a weekend trip out of it, driving down from D.C. *

After the first 3 or 4 minutes, the conclusion of the game was no longer in doubt. *As jjbluecw mentioned, they had a lot of athleticism, but appeared to be a little raw. *The Bison absolutely dominated. *Coach Miles wasn't very happy with a few of the players early in the second half. *More or less told them that if they didn't continue to play hard, they'd be on the bench. *Let's just say he got their attention with a few words that would've made Bob Huggins blush. *It worked.

The arena was less than impressive. *A lot like a highschool gym. A nice highschool gym, but nothing special. Bleachers on both sides. *We couldn't find any concessions. It's my understanding that they play some of their bigger home games at an arena that they share with Wake Forrest Univ.

The crowd was great, and we were welcomed by everyone. *There were a couple of WSSU guys that sat in front of us (right behind the Bison bench) that were attempting to heckle the team, but by about halfway through the second half, gave up and started cheering for the Bison. *

The band was loud and the cheer team and dance team, well, wow. * I had to cover my 7 week old son's (his first Bison game!) eyes for a few of their routines. *They were fired up.

Also, on the way back out to our car, at three different times, we had people stop congratulate us and tell us to enjoy our stay in Winston-Salem.

It was a good time and I hope when their team makes the trip up to Fargo, you all make them feel as welcome as we did. *Being 3 -19, or whatever their record is, and sticking with it all season...they deserve a lot of credit.

#1. I might be just a poor judge of play...I think AP was guarding their quickest player and he just looked a little too fast for him.

#2. I moved to Winston-Salem about a year ago. Only the third bison mens game I've gotten to see in person this year so it was a real treat they came to town.

About the arena: they play most of their home games in the same arena Wake Forest uses, but it was occupied for another event this weekend...too bad cause that arena is big time. It hosts the first rounds of March Madness this year.
