I won't "confirm" but I have heard from pretty reputable sources that it was offered and I believe he is taking it.

Tim is after Dave Thorson, from DeLaSalle, H.S. in Mpls....May or may not take it, Dave was a asst for Clem Haskins at Minnesota back in the day...

Todd is not in the mix, right now...? Have heard he may go back to Southwest St. or get out of coaching for a while....

But Why...?? Is what I want to know.

Todd is staying in Fargo but will not be coaching the Bison. *He has some other opportunities come up so don't worry. *He is taken care of. *

Not according to a TV report from last night. WDAY sports reported that Koering has been offered an assistant's job at NDSU, but that he is taking his time while considering other options as well. It was also reported the the current Bison GA is a strong candidate for the other assistant coaching job.

My sources (I have sources in college bball) told me last Thursday that Craig had been told by Tim that he was looking elsewhere. Craig getting this opportunity came about since last Thursday, I'm sure of that.

I don't mean to be a prick, and I probably have been, sorry. I believe Miles probably didn't even start considering the operations position until the time he offered it to Smith. His focus up until that time was very likely moreso on filling one or two assistant positions.

More news on the changes at CSU:

UI basketball takes big hit

The University of Idaho men's basketball program is losing highly touted
recruit Andre McFarland and the assistant coach primarily responsible
for recruiting McFarland.

McFarland, a one-time USC commitment, has asked for and will be
granted his release from the letter of intent he signed with Idaho in
November. McFarland, a strong 6-foot-6 forward who was expected to
make an immediate impact at Idaho, played last season at Brewster
Academy, a prep school in New Hampshire.

Assistant coach DeMarlo Slocum, who coached McFarland on a Las
Vegas-based AAU team several years ago, is joining new coach Tim
Miles' staff at Colorado State. Slocum, who was at Idaho for one
season, was instrumental in the recruitment of McFarland, University of
Washington transfer Harvey Perry and Michael Loyd Jr., who recently
made an oral commitment to Idaho.

He is a bigtime recruiter and a great get for Miles at CSU. I guess he had Idaho in a top 15 recruiting class on the West Coast. Pretty impressive. Hopefully Miles can bring some great kids in, and retain Jason Smith for a year. It will be fun to watch their success......but not one night in the BSA!!!!!!! Is there an age limit to sit in the student section for one night????

SIT in the student section? *I had to go SIT in my seats the second half of KState because my old legs couldn't handle STANDING the WHOLE game in the student section. *They were all so jammed in there that they couldn't have sat if they wanted to. *;)

TK will NOT be continuing with the NDSU Basketball program, but may be continuing with NDSU Athletics. There are decisions to be made.

I think it is something he did for work at WDAY. I spoke with TK about this at tailgating and it sounded like Bison Athletics was an area he was planning to stay away from. Thanks for the link.

Bison Basketball Recruiting

In the last week, I have received several comments on this blog. Almost everyone has asked why I have not made comments regarding the Bison and specifically to NDSU Bison Basketball…patience I reply! I started doing this just for fun, and to fill the lunch break with something a little different. Plus my relationship with the coaches is beyond coworkers, but they are close friends. So if they share something with me…the last thing I want to do is run to this blog, www.bisonville.com , or any other web posting spots. Another thing is our media in this area does such a good job of working for scoops, not much gets pass them. Other then Coach Tim Miles sneaking out of town for an interview in Colorado! Classic.

So here is what I know, or should I say here is what I can tell ya regarding Bison Basketball. Austin Dufault is there number 1 guy…has been for a while! The whole staff is working extremely hard to make him a Bison. He would be a great fit and no doubt built wonderful relationships with the coaches, so it will be very hard when the day comes and he has to say NO to them (lets hope this does not happen). I would say AZ STATE has worked very hard for him and has been there since the summer AAU circuit. U of MN is a long shot…in my opinion…from what I see, he is waiting and in a way recruiting them….if they have done nothing yet as far as a visit, official offer, head coach in for a home visit…then he is on their back burner! Washington State has moved on, they got commitments. So with all this recent recruiting action, I would say the HERD are in great shape.

As for plan B…there isn’t one right now. He is there man! Until then look for the staff to recruit like banshees for the 09 class. That’s the biggest recruiting year ever for the Bison, as they will be looking to replace on heck of a core group….
