Has Saul Phillips hired all of his assistants yet? I know they said he would be talking to coaches down in Georgia at the Final Four but have not heard if he hired anyone yet.

Has he offered the job to Todd Koering? Is he waiting on a decision?

According to WDAY sports at 10PM, Saul will have his coaching staff filled out by the end of the week.

Todd Koering will not be part of Saul Phillips staff, but may still be part of Bison Athletics. On going discussions.

As reported tonight on TV6 Sports. . . .

There have been over 100 applicants for the two assistant coaching positions that are open.

Todd Koering has not yet made a final decision as to whether he will accept one of the positions.

GA Jason Kemp has a good chance of being promoted to full-time status.

Sounds like Coach Saul is giving Koering plenty of time to make his decision. Although with the 10 day waiting period for new hires over tommorrow, I would expect decisions and announcements to be made shortly.

Ah...

Koering is not making a decision. He is not going to be back as an asst. basketball coach.

no - full time. Richman top spot. Konkol second spot and Kemp 3rd spot and they will also hire a new g.a. Konkol was an assistant the past year or two at Hopkins after leaving GM. Gives ndsu 3 wisconsin guys...

Before Lakes jumps all over the rumorman for not having enough posts ;D, I will confirm that this is true. I don't for sure know the rank order or if there is one between him and Kemp, but I do know he has been chosen and Kemp will be promoted.

Hope one or two of the star Hopkins players follow Konkol to Fargo in the future. :)

Hopkins has 2 sophomores that the Bison are interested in. One is Raymond Cowles who is a 6'4 wing and I believe Konkol would greatly help the chances of getting him to play for the Bison. The other player is Mike Broghammer who already has an offer from the bison. He is a 6'7 sophomore who will likely be 6'11 or so by the time he graduates. However, I believe he is going to be a big long shot. I believe he will be a top 50 recruit by the time he is done with school. Although, having Konkol could only help are chances.

Here is a link to interview with these 2 Hopkins sophomores

On Friday at Washburn high school in Minneapolis, Howard Pulley had a practice/scrimmage with coaches from UNI, Marquette, Tubby, and a NDSU coach who I had not seen before, I assume the new guy. I don't think NDSU has a chance at Broghammer, but Cowles will be in the mix and they also like Hopkins sophomore PG Marcus Williams.

Photos from the practice mentioned above from Minnesota Preps with the NDSU coach very visable with his green shirt on in several photos. Not sure but you might have to be a rivals member to get these.
