What a Joke D2 is.

I agree. UNA outdrew UND like 9,200 to 7,900. UND's playoff attendance is pathetic. 7,900 is almost worse then NDSU's worst regular season game this season (7100 agaisnst C-SP in a noon start).

I would be very mad if I was UNA. This might rank up there with the Delta State fiasco NDSU was involved in a few years back.

D2 continues to amaze me. No way should have UND got to host that game. I wonder what the logic behind that decision was.

D2 continues to amaze me. *No way should have UND got to host that game. * I wonder what the logic behind that decision was.

The logic had to have been that they already host a National Championship game so why should they have to host the semi's. I agree, if I was UNA I would be furious but that is the price you pay to possibly host the championship game if you make it there. Is that worth it? We will see.

I hate to say it, but I may actually buy that logic.....

Doesn't mean much if they don't win in Grand Forks

I don't buy that logic at all. *Why play the regular season at all then?? *I thought regional record was the reason behind selections. *UNA was ranked #1 (as was UND) but was the second ranked team in the nation. *Who cares is they "host" the national championship game. *It is there every year. *Really doesn't matter where the game is if they don't make it there.

Teams at every level from NAIA to the pro's battle all season long to improve their records to first make it into the playoffs, then try to get homefield advantage. *Would Miami not host the AFC championship if they had the best record and the Superbowl was at Pro Player stadium??

The whole process sucks and lacks logic. *Goodbye D2!!!

ANother thing that it has been speculated that could have played a factor was field condition. How could that field handle 4 straight weekends in the rainy season it is right now in Florence ? I don't know if has rained there much yet, but when we were there in 2001 it rained on us all 3 days we were there. I'd think the NCAA wouldn't want to start the Nat'l Championship game on a chewed up field. Their reasoning makes sense as far as looking ahead to the Title game, but still UNA got slighted.

Field means nothing--does kitty litter mean anything to anyone?

IowaBison

I think they got ripped off plain and simple. We played on kitty litter in 2000 in Mississippi after heavy rain when the game should have been in our house based on record, rankings, etc.

I think it's another great opportunity for suexicola fans to show that they don't care that there football team is any good. Another reason for lenin to leave.

So I guess no TV means about 600 extra fans if the difference isnt accounted for by the Winona fans? Not the impact some would have thought. It seems to me that the TV revenues would have raised more money since the crowd was about the same as last week. It is another sign the roger thomas isnt managing the program correctly. he is not a business man, but a dictator that rules by his own unstable emotional outrages.

UND admin was sooooooo short sighted with the TV thing last week. *I would think they would have allowed it to be televised to the west and get the school some exposure. *More strange decision making from good old RT.

Apparently UNA lost the home field bid due to 'strength of schedule'. They beat the D I AA #17, Jacksonville State Gamecocks.

You all know this one in D II. Beat a D I team = "weaker schedule".

Glad we've left this nonsense.

Sung to the Bud Light Real American Heroes commercials:

mr. und male football cheerleader
bud light presents real american heroes
(real american heroes)
today we salute you, mr. und male football cheerleader
(mr. und male football cheerleader)
real men don't just play smash mouth football, real men turn cartwheels and somersaults on the sidelines, tucked safely away from the action
(don't touch me now)
fourth down and inches, the game's on the line, it all comes down to you.
will you call for a perky pyramid, or a line dance?
(get on my shoulders)
knock em back, knock em back all the way to hack em sack
(rah rah rah rah rha zis boom bah)
so grab an ice cold bud light mr. und male football cheerleader.
you may never score a touchdown, but you're peppy
(yay!)
and that's gotta count for something.
(that's gotta count for somethin)
