I really don't like going into Bisonville.com, clicking on the "Message Board" link and having to copy and paste the new url into the address bar from the maintenance mode error page.

Can we get a direct link to the 400.pair board from Bisonville??

Thanx.

The thing is that I don't have a computer of my own (freakin' laptops are $2 grand), so I'm forced to use the campus cluster computers, and ITS won't let students have their own personal internet settings for logging onto campus cluster computers. Which means every time I log on, I have to enter addresses manually.

Why do you have to enter it manually? Why not just click on the link near the top of the page in the center. Look under the date, it says, The site is going down, Use: and then the link comes up. Takes two seconds.

Oh, I didn't realize that was a link. That's definitely an improvement.

Thanx. :D

I dunno where you are logging in at, but campus computers save all my own stuff.

Once you get here, add the page to your favorites. Problem solved.

Or when you get to the home page RT click. Then LT click create short cut. The short cut is then on your desk top. PL

Doesn't it also take about 2 minutes to update the link on Bisonville to point to the right web site? Newbies are going to be rather put off by bad links, it makes a bad impression.

Well, the board has had about 60 or so new users since the start of the month (not sure how that compares to the normal rate) so at the very least we are getting some new people registering who don't seem to be bothered by the lack of a link. I guess I have the new site bookmarked so I haven't really been inconvenienced by the switch.

Tony, when is the new URL going to be associated with the link on Bisonville? Also, when this is done it would be nice to rearrange the links and make the message board link more prominent (larger or different text, etc) and place it closer to the top of the page. Just a couple suggestions.
