Rant on Message Board Link.

Ok.. my Rant.

#1. *the Message board is basically the only reason we goto Bisonville, the records, history are very nice, but its all secondary.

#2 *therefore, that LINK HAS TO BE MORE VISIBLE!!! *Put it up Top, Bold, Big Font.

#3 *I have sent hundreds of people to this website via the link www.bisonville.com, only to have them bitch to me about how you have to click on message boards, then what. *(DUH I KNOW THE www400.pair.com flashes up there, but think about the 1st timers!!! *this is thier first brush with this board and it leaves an impression)

#4. *its been 2-3 months, is it pure laziness NOT to change the URL on message board on front page into the www400.pair message board. (DUH PEOPLE< I HAVE IT BOOKMARKED, but when Im on the road I click on it, when Im on my cellphone I have to click on it... just CHANGE IT!)


Ok.. Im done, but this is IMPERATIVE that it gets done, we are losing some fans, or at the very least, annoying them for 5-10 minutes before the NEW PEOPLE figure it out.

Word on the street is that there isn't any money to upgrade the link. All financial resources were put into software that will limit the amount of caps and exclamation points that are allowed in a post.

Am I the only one that doesn't go through bisonville to get to the message boards? I've never done it that way and have always just gone to the bisoninsider main page. Seems easier to just tell your friends to check out the message board via bisoninsider.com...or am I missing something here?

Don't think anyone is ripping on Tony, just suggesting that the link should be obvious, etc... For NEW people stumbling or being sent to the site for whatever reason...

You tell someone go to the messageboard on bisonville.com and then for the next 3 months they say I went there 3 times and couldn't find it. Could they look for it and eventually find it, sure, but that's not the point. You can go to Walmart and find toothpicks if you look hard enough.

So sorry, January is my busiest month work-wise, plus I am redesigning bisonville.com and trying to get my domain transferred over to this new address (at which point the existing link will work).

Anyway, it's OK to get on my case - sometimes I need the extra push.

I told 3 NEW people just last week to come to bisonville.com

1 didnt see the message board link (yes, he isn't a patient man.. ha ha)

people glancing bisonvilles homepage wouldnt have it JUMP out at them.


2 other's said... clicked on message board, then had to wait for a flash link, what the hell lakes!!

ha ha.

it takes 1 minute to write a HTML thread pointing to www400.

Actually the link does, but the first page doesn't know you are logged in, weird.

The link isn't supposed to go to www400.pair.com - I've switched over the address so they are the same thing. Internally in the message board software it's still using the www400.pair.com address so I'll have to go through and change them all. Hopefully that will take care of the "not being logged in" problem that 99Bison is running into.

However, I'm in no rush to do this particular step - probably a weekend deal.

I just sent Tony and email with a new homepage that has the messageboard link toward the top and bold... and left the old link where it is just in case for the older users :-)
