I saw in the Forum in a Terry DeVine column how NDSU's civil engineers "built the strongest bridge at the 11th annual ASCE/AISC National Student Steel Bridge Competition, sponsored by The American Society of Civil Engineers and the American Institute of Steel Construction, Inc."

Gotta like that, spending their summer working on a project and all.

Yes, I have a friend of mine who was on that team. They beat ALL the big boys for that one.....they got 1st place for overall design. See, they have different categories, for instance, stiffness, efficiency, weight (how light it is vs. load applied).

Cal Tech, MIT and Standford all went down to NDSU, to name a few.

Although I am not a Civil Engineer, I am an Industrial Engineer, I love to see NDSU Engineering prevail. I wonder how UND Engineering did? :) That's a contradiction in terms......UND and Engineering.

und "engineering" won the prize for construction of the most circular arguments against NDSU moving to Division 1.

Congratulations to the NDSU Engineers!
