I've been a bit busy the last couple months so pardon me for the lack of maintenance on the site. I have been picking up bits and pieces about Bison recruits.
First, QB recruit Steve Walker is excelling as a pitcher - they're gunning for a section championship.
Second, NDSU has gotten a commitment from the Alaskan state champ in the shot put, Ben Clooten. He can really chuck it.
Third, Grete Peterson, an all-sport athlete from around Willmar will be playing softball at NDSU. She's struck out 400 in her career and hits .400. Not too shabby. She also excels in track, basketball, and tennis.
Speaking of Willmar, Carrie Jacobson is playing in national tourneys with some other NDSU and SDSU grads (with a Gopher thrown in) and was named the MVP at a national tournament.
Fourth, Walt Gilbert, a Bison football recruit, is doing very well in baseball and track. 14.4 in the high hurdles (that time would have won the ND state championship by a 1/2 second), 45+ feet in the triple jump, and throws 80+ mph.
Oh yeah, not a recruit, but I read some place that Kinsey Coles was going to be running the 800m at the US championships this Saturday.
