Technology immune to nuclear blast (http://www.usatoday.com/tech/news/techinnovations/2004-01-26-spintronics_x.htm)
Ran across it doing my nightly search of NDSU-related stories. The Forum did a better story: Spintronics comes to NDSU

tony,
Sorry to degrade your thread, but I don't want to make a new thread for this (it's old news, now) ;D ;). Looks like the government might be sending some $$$ NDSU's way: Senate bill includes $27 million for Fargo (http://www.in-forum.com/articles/?id=48681)
.......The bill also includes more than $7.5 million for North Dakota State University projects. These are the three top-funded projects:
- $1.75 million to support a livestock disease surveillance site in western North Dakota
* *
*
*
- $1.7 million to address potential risks to the U.S. food supply from agroterrorism
- $1 million for a forensic DNA analysis laboratory to provide doctorate-level training
The Fargo Agricultural Research Station would receive $4.8 million, primarily for cereal crop and sunflower research.
With the popularity of those CSI shows, a DNA lab couldn't hurt *;D
I think this will be my "NDSU in the national and world news thread."
Here's one from a UK paper: South Pole Warmer Than N.D. by By JAMES MacPHERSON (http://www.guardian.co.uk/uslatest/story/0,1282,-3681456,00.html)
James writes for the Bismarck Tribune but I thought it was cool that the Guardian picked up the story (along with many, many other papers around the US).
