Tourney Eligible in 2006!!!

Fresh off the WDAY presses- NDSU has learned that two sports (one men's and one women's) can be postseason eligible in 2006. Football or Basketball cannot be one of the the sports chosen. Wrestling and Volleyball are the speculations by Steve Hallstrom.

Wrestling would be fantastic, we should have a couple of grapplers who would make the tournament.

I can see wrestling, at it is broken down to an individual sport. Sure they still have team standing's but there is also individual champions...so that makes sense to be that they would be eligible in 2006. Now as for a women's sport....I'm not too sure what that will be? Any thoughts.....

Could be- Hallstrom was just speculating about volleyball. Basketball is definitely out.

It is the 2006-07 year. So it starts with volleyball in Sept of 2006.

Sounds like the wrestling conference that was talked about earlier will start up in 2006-2007. Bucky was on WDAY 6:00 news and said the schools didn't see a point to the conference if the conference champs couldn't compete in the tourney.
