Princeton comes to Fargo on Wednesday Thursday to take on the Bison wrestlers. This would be a good one to see.

Hopefully this gets some press so people know about it.

Does anyone have links to information on the Tigers' wrestling team?
Will we be going out there for a dual meet next year?

Princeton was 1-8 in duals last season. Their only victory was over South Dakota State.

Another classy post by 01234.....

Contrary to your belief.....Allot of people care about wrestling. it has always been a flagship sport for NDSU...with many great teams, and some of the best talent in the nation.

Yeah...it's not like football...but any sport that consistently competes and wins national championships (team and individual) should be "cared about"

MRBISON
12-06-2004, 10:30 PM
Yeah you're not classy....

Not because you don't like wrestling...because you make a point to come on here and tell people what they should or shouldn't care about. if you don't care about wrestling..don't comment on it...who says you decide whats worth talking about?

I said wrestling has always been "A" flagship sport..not "THE" flagship sport... and it is "A" flagship sport..whether you agree or not...4 national titles and countless individual titles warrant that claim...

we all know football is "THE" flagship sport..but thanks for pointing out the obvious.............you're the one who needs to work on "getting it right".....or maybe just simply GETTING IT

MRBISON

People are on here exchaning opinions about Wrestling and the first thing you do is come on here and say "it's not football" ...."who cares"..........So you're saying that unless it's football nobody should care......that's where I got the idea that you tell people what to think...it's called comprehension..you should try it sometime!

And just when I think you couldn't post anything more stupid.... you ask how much money wrestling made for the University.....What does that have to do with anything?.....you don't have to make allot of money to be a flagship sport.........in any event, I never said it was ahead of football in any way, shape or form. In fact I stated twice that football was THE sport at NDSU. Again...try to comprehend what you read....

I consider a Flagship sport to be one in which you have had allot of success and a sport that you are known for....Football, Womens Basketball, and Wrestling at NDSU fit that description.

I Don't think NDSU should just forget about the sports that don't make allot of money.

This is going to be NDSU's first dual as a DI school so it has some historical interest.

There are two Princeton wrestling sites that I could find:

The unofficial one (http://www.puwrestling.com/)
The official (http://goprincetontigers.collegesports.com/sports/m-wrestl/prin-m-wrestl-body.html)

It doesn't look like either site will be updated until after the NDSU dual.

You're right.....I should have just ignored 01234 and his comments...its hard to ignore stupid comments ......... just look at some of his posts on the "100 million dollar" subject...geeze

anyway...back to the subject:

I am looking forward to the wrestling schedule. Especially the Northern Iowa dual. Bucky has done another great recruiting job!

is there a girl on the team?

Senior Audrey Pang, the only woman on the team, lost a close bout to James Martinez, 14-8.

Looks like she will be on the mat:

And, in one case tonight, not all males. NDSU freshman Mike Meger is scheduled to face Princeton senior Audrey Pang at 125 pounds, a matchup that Meger is taking as a team approach rather than an individual one.

i think they're wrestling Chu in Moorhead and then giving Pang some mat time here in Fargo.

with all due respect, i don't know if she'll make it out of the first period, but hey, nice back door to get into Princeton!

The Bison got off to a fast start when redshirt freshman Meger pinned Princeton's Audrey Pang in the opener at 125 pounds. Meger had built up a 9-1 lead before securing the pin at 2:15 of the first period.

Holy Crap there were a lot of people at the dual last night!

They state 740 and it was at least that. My wife and I got there early. About the third or fourth match I commented on how many people were there. She then kindly agreed and pointed out that there were people covering most of the west side of the BSA, it was a sight to see. It was probably 3/4s students as the weather was pretty bad yesterday.

I'm sure most in attendance were there to see us beat up on some Ivy League kids, maybe some will return for some pretty good duals later in the season.
