Now the trick is landing the high-profile local athletes BEFORE they go to other DI schools.

As a sidenote...the Big Sky doesn't sponsor men's golf (women's yes). *Only 4 schools play men's - Weber State, Northern Colorado, Idaho State, and Sacramento State. All 4 compete as independents.

Add SDSU and NDSU and you got yourselves a GOLF CONFERENCE!!!

Another good reason for the BIG SKY to add us.

Baseball & Wrestling would be the only sports not associated with Big Sky, and they would be in Mid Con and USAC or whatever that is called..

The Big Sky doesn't sponsor softball either. As mentioned in other sections, they only have 4 schools playing - Sacramento State and Portland State play in the Pacific Coast Softball Conference; Idaho State will be resurrecting their softball program in 2007 and will play as an independent; and Northern Colorado is still an independent. Eastern Washington may be adding 3 sports in the future, and softball may be one of them.

While on this subject and as discussed in other sections; there are only 2 baseball schools in the Big Sky - Sacramento State plays in the WAC, and Northern Colorado is still independent.

I heard Matt Rubis did not make the team..........I find it hard to believe that there is 12 better players on the NDSU Roster.............Whats Up??

Matt Rubis didn't make the cut. After 54 holes there were 12 players at +7 or better.Matt was tied for 16th at +13. They didn't need a team of 17 players. He wants to eventually go to work for his father so hopefully he'll get situated in the School of Business and worry about golf the next 4 years.
