We make the playoffs all the time. That's why NDSU has almost twice as many national championships as und.

In a minor sport, as defined by NCAA bylaws. They're comparable to badmitton and bowling.

i saw the Olympics when the French judges were conspiring to throw figure skating. Which explains why UNDs figuring skating team is so awesome.....

Division 1 hockey doesn't mean the same thing as D1 Football or Bball. There are only 50 or so D1 hockey teams while there are 200 fball teams and almost 400 bball teams.

There are three divisions in hockey, just like most other minor sports. DI has 58 teams, DII has 7 but no longer has a championship game, and DIII has 69 teams. I believe that DII hockey was done away with for a few years, or it's memebership has gone way down. -number of schools that sponsor each sport (http://www1.ncaa.org/membership/membership_svcs/sponssummary)

DIII has a championship, just like DI. -LINK (http://www.ncaa.org/releases/champselections/2003030903sl.htm)
