Is this a reasonable Expectation for what the BSA/Dome area might look like in a couple years?

http://www.geocities.com/tman_ndsu08

1- this is the parking lot to the east of the dome...already built.
2- this is the parking lot to the west of the dome...already built.
3- this is a parking lot that is extended all the way from street to street instead of stopping where the tennis courts are. I thought about it and even if we added a tennis team those courts wouldn't be able to support them and a proper tennis facility should be built.
4- a new parking lot where the grass football fields are.
5- this is where the new fargodome extenstion would go(where the north lot is now). This can be either basketball only, or possibly football and hockey.
6 - this is obviously the BSA. The inside needs to be remodeled to get rid of the unnecessary stands and to have as much gym floor space as possible. Also the track should be surfaced so it's actually like a track and not like a gym floor.
7- this space is kinda up for grabs. If we get hockey this can be a practice facility. The same goes for tennis, this could be an indoor tennis facility. Or it could be both of these in one building. Or it could be neither, just more parking space.
8- this is where the south parking lot is. Instead this could be the new fenced in outdoor practice area for the bison. This could be 3 grass 1 turf, 2 grass 2 turf, and one of the fields could have a bubble over it for indoor work when the dome is in use (or for whatever).

What do you guys think? Is this realistic?

I don't think your football practice fields would be big enough.

why would they expand the dome? they never get close to sell outs but they get 5000 away then the green come to town

Bisonguy

They don't. NDSU has two games this year with over 14,000 for attendance. UND has never even had over 14,000 people for a football game.

originalsiouxrock
10-24-2003, 11:24 PM
sure they did

Bisonguy
10-24-2003, 11:24 PM
where's the proof. Until you provide the link, you're lying.

sure they did

OriginalRockHead:

When the capacity of the Hilarious is 13-5. How would you explain a crowd over 14,000?

oh that's right...because you said so right?

Here is the sioux football attendance figures from their website

crookston- Attendance: 9253
http://www.fightingsioux.com/sports/football/boxscore.asp?GAME_ID=886#GAME.NEW

newberry- Attendance: 7669
http://www.fightingsioux.com/sports/football/boxscore.asp?GAME_ID=888#GAME.NEW

Augie (homecoming)- Attendance: 10173
http://www.fightingsioux.com/sports/football/boxscore.asp?GAME_ID=889#GAME.NEW

St. Cloud Attendance: 7647
http://www.fightingsioux.com/sports/football/boxscore.asp?GAME_ID=890#GAME.NEW

NDSU: Attendance: 12267
http://www.fightingsioux.com/sports/football/boxscore.asp?GAME_ID=892#GAME.NEW

That's interesting, other than homecoming and NDSU, more fans come for the crookston game than any other, that must be why they schedule them, also where did Ralphie grow up... was it crookston.... that can't be why they schedule them can it?

Its interesting that the hilarious only had 12,000 + for NDSU. They cant even sell out that game. I dont imagine raising the ticket prices had anything to do with it? If they left 1.000 tickets on the table thats about $14,000 or more. I doubt they raised that by selling some of their tickets at $27.50. But, since he had given it some thought I would guess its about as good as Roger Thomas could do .

From what I have heard the seats were within the Sioux season ticket holder sections. I heard that they sold it out but not everybody showed. Guess RT got his $$$ even though the crowd wasn't there.

Just my $0.02!

Does the Alerus actually hold 13,500, I know the specs say it does, but I didn't see a whole lot of open seats at the bison-sioux games, and there were a lot of people standing in the endzone hallway and in the beergarden. *Also the alerus seems alot smaller on the inside than the fargodome (18,700), no endzone seating, and it seems there is alot more sideline seating in the fargodome. *Then again I have only been there for two bison-sioux games and I started tailgating at 8 both times. ::)
