It looks like the WAC will be missing a member in UTEP shortly. *I wonder if this means Idaho will join the WAC. *

Louisiana Tech (also currently in the WAC) had been speculated to join CUSA but it looks like that won't happen. *But UTEP was now their closest rival after Rice, Tulsa, and SMU announced their move to the CUSA last fall. *

San Jose State is also considering dropping football in some of publications of late. *

With all of that, I would guess Idaho is a must additions just because of member numbers needed for a conference. *

I also wonder what this does to the Big Sky plans.

Here is an ESPN article on the CUSA addtion. They state that LA Tech is still in the running, as is North Texas.

Hey, Kent, up late? I wonder why :)

I don't know if you saw this but from what I read on anygivensaturday, it sounds almost certain that the minimum attendance rule for DI-A is on the way out (that and the minimum number of home games has been or is going to be lowered from five to four).

I think thats an excellent move. Attendance isnt relevant if the bills are getting paid. Why if your rich enough you should be able to build a stadium for a university, book it up and watch it by yourself.

Tony,

Yep, I was up because of the baby. Sleep seems to the last thing on his list at night. He sleeps all day and is up most of the night (at least last night). Work today is tough.

I have learned to hold the baby in the left hand/arm and type one handed.

As for the topic, I have read the articles. The five to four game minimum is a reality for next season and the season after.

The attendence clause is still up for debate and I believe it is being discussed in an NCAA council now.

My little guy didn't sleep through the night until he was 13 months old. My wife and I though at first he just wanted the bottle, but when we took him off that he would get up and eat a whole yogurt bar. Of course, now he weighs about 35 pounds and isn't 2 yet.

The buy-in concept is interesting. I wouldnt be suprised to see that invoked by the Big Sky or other conferences. For all I know its a standard deal. I just handnt seen it before.

It is a fair concept. The other teams are giving up something of value to let you in. The Great West, once it matures to an auto bid status could consider it too.
