The number six also was Stacy Robinson's number. On a side note, my wife and I just moved and while going through some boxes, I found a bunch of old Bison football programs I kept over the years. One of special interest is the 1983 Palm Bowl program. The cover is of SW Texas St with Jim Wacker and some players holding the hardware. The following is a list of the Bison starters vs Central State of Ohio as listed in the program:

OFFENSE:
Stacy Robinson
Dave Piepkorn
Paul Olson
Greg Hagfors
Mike Whetstone
Phil Duginski
Terry Baer
Jeff Bentrim
Chad Stark
James Molstre
Jeff Conley

Defense:
Lee Monson
Marc Braeger
Mike Statton
Steve Krause
Jim Dick
Chris Broome
Jon Dunbar
Doug Hushka
Barry Sorensen
Jeff Willer
Tom Van Voorhis

One other thing I picked up on while looking through the program is that of all the teams in the championship game to that point are now out of DII. NDSU and UC Davis were the last to go.

Also happy D1 day to you man...been far too long. Being a SD native, this should have been done for both schools moons ago.

Shipped a lot of great athletes out of state that may have stayed.

unc bear,

NDSU has been a great D2 power for 20+ years, like the Ags, with one exception, they have won the big games. NDSU is a very high quality program, and every time we play them, I know, it will be a tough game. But, at the same time it is a great pleasure to play a team of their caliber. It let's you know just how you stack up with the rest of the teams in the conference. If you beat them, you know you will be competetive with ALL the other teams you will play.
They are a class organization and in general a good group of people (I can say the same for GVSU as when we played them last year, they too won with class 9-6 OT).
I hope our fans and team show the same respect when we play at your schools. It is more fun when you have a good competetive spirit between foes. As for UNC, when we Ags played you guys last year, I will say I believe you to have been the best of the teams we played. You were the only team that beat us, by more than what the score showed. All our other lossess could easily have been wins, but you were the better team on that day. Maybe, we'll get you at your house this year. Good Luck.
