Montana to play Oregon

Montana has dropped one of their DII teams to play at I-A Oregon next year. They are still playing Fort Lewis State to open the season but dropped Central Washington.

Wow credit Oregon for having the guts to schedule them. A loss would kill their rankings. One thing I like about the IAA level, you have an opportunity to really see how good your team is, by stepping up and playing IA competition. Couldn't do that in DII.

Much rather see the Bison drop DII Mankato at home and play the gophers on the road. I think it is great Montana is stepping up to play Oregon. Regardless of the outcome I think growing programs like Montana and NDSU should strive to play at the highest level whenever possible since that is where both teams will someday be playing.
