Here we go, I'm guessing Northern Iowa is not getting in the playoffs, right? Let's have a Metrobowl in the Metrodome where NDSU plays Northern Iowa. Would probably draw close to 20,000 fans.

Where's Lakes? *Let's get this going, I don't see why it couldn't happen.....or if San Diego doesn't make the playoffs we could fly them in to Fargo for a beatdown. *Harbaugh would finally shut up then.

Great idea, but they already havve UC-Davis scheduled if they don't make the playoffs.

Could NDSU work out a post-season game against Northern Iowa this late in the season? Even if all the logistics fell into place, site availability, team transportation, advertising, etc., wouldn't the NCAA have to approve it? Both universities would have the weigh the cost of facility rental and travel versus the potential revenue and make a decision. I just don't see how that could happen on short notice. Great idea though.

I think there is an 11 game limit in I-AA.

Isn't there at least one bowl game in divison II? Not sure why this would be any different. Also, don't some of the black schools ignore the playoffs and play in some traditional bowl type games?

I think there is an 11 game limit in I-AA.

question: *San Diego plays the Grid Iron Classic game (TBA). *This is their 11th game of the season. *Yet, they are scheduled to play UC Davis in two weeks.

update: This game (Grid Iron Classic) will be played Dec 2. If San Diego makes the palyoffs, the Pioneer runner-up will play in the GIC game.

Normally the members of the Pioneer conference do not participate in the playoffs. The special game was promoted between the winner in that conference and another conference on the east coast that I dont remember the name of. The Grid Iron Classic game was approved by the members of both conferences and then the NCAA had to give their blessing on it.
