Ted Pelzer is transferring

This was reported in the Forum this morning that Ted Pelzer is transferring. This means the Bison have just two quarterbacks on the roster currently. I wonder if any of the in-coming freshman might have the red-shirt waved if a third quarterback is needed durning the season. I would hope not. I think the red-shirt can be kept until the player is absolutely needed. If neither QB gets hurt, two will be enough.

I wonder why Pelzer is transferring. Did the coaching staff say to him that he most likely will not get any playing time or if he just wanted to play right away somewhere and use his running abilities? It seems the Bison offense is getting more and more like a Pro-style.

NDSU does have 3 red-shirt QB's, so it won't hurt too bad pulling one. The new Bison offense is essentially a West Coast offense, so it is more "Pro-style". Pelzer showed some potential at the spring game, but I think any of the redshirts would be able to step in if needed.
