Today is a sad day - Jim Wacker passed away from complications due to cancer.

Wacker institued the beloved veer offense and reignited the Bison program in the mid 70's and his coaching legacy was felt in every national championship in the 80's. He will be missed.

Jim Wacker was an outstanding man. Just being around people like that changes you for the better.

To The family of Jim Wacker,
Those of us who have been around Bison football since the days that Coach Wacker led ou team know how fortunate we wert to have him spend those few years with us in Fargo. His enthusiasm, honesty and integrity were his hallmarks. He was special, but then you know that. Thanks for loaning him to us for awhile.
