Two things of interest in this story for Bison fans. First, the NDSU - Tusculum game will have at least one pro scout although I didn't think we had any NFL-quality seniors this year (prove me wrong guys). Tusculum has at least one senior prospect though. Second, St. Cloud has a 6'2 290-lb defensive linemen named Joe Niehaus who is playing for them as a true freshmen. Why is that interesting? Joe Niehaus signed with NDSU as a high school senior back in 1998 - the same year as Lamar Gordon et al. The SC paper makes a point that he's the only "true freshman" playing but, holy cow, he's been playing football for the Alexandria Mustangs for a couple years (an "adult amateur" team in the Great Plains Football League). Coach Hedberg has to play him now or he'll be in his 30's before he uses up his eligibility.
