Anybody know when Roger Thomas was going to announce if the sue are going to back out or not from the ndsu/und game?

No one knows, not even Gene Taylor. It has to be soon because we want to fill the football dates up with other teams.

I think there is A LOT of heat about the price gouging and the Rivalry Game. They are hearing noise from their supporters...I can't see how they can cancel next year's games. They need the revenue for tuition increases. Especially if they keep playing teams like Crookston. No one will go to those games so they'll need NDSU to fill the stadium!! The McFeeley article and the editorial were great.

Brave Brave Sir Roger (See Tony's Smack), will just let the Bison finish filling their schedule. After the Bison Schedule is full, Brave Brave Sir Roger will blame NDSU for ending the rivalry.

Three policies by the Sue Administration are starting to create much inner turmoil in the Sue supporter ranks. Even long time supporters are getting upset.

1. The decision not to pursue D-1 status.

2. Brave Roger and crew stating they don't think they should play against NDSU

3. The ticket gouging scam. For God's sake, who's decision was that!!

How much money do you think UND would get if the played NDSU next year?

Since this year's game is at the Hilarious Center I'm hoping that the 1st non-conference matchup would be in Fargo.

Here is an article by Kolpack about how NDSU can wait up to Feburary before finalizing the schedule for 2004.

Wow! Playing a Big 10 school in just 4 years is kind of exciting and scary at the same time. I'm sure a few Bison fans would travel down I-94 to see them play Minnesota.

Wonder if we could get any of the Big 10 schools to come up here? Probably would be a sellout if we could!!

Doubt it. The best chance would be something like a 2 or 3 homes/one in the Fargodome deal with the Gophers. I can't see Ohio State or Michigan turning away 100,000 + at home to come up here.

Troy State (the team that beat us in the 1984 championship game) is now a D-1A team and they earned $450,000 from Kansas State and $275,000 from Minnesota for playing road games this year. *Source (http://www.mndaily.com/articles/2003/09/05/6380)

I don't know if D-1AA teams get that much money. *Even half might not be too bad.

The Kansas City Star reported that McNeese St. was payed $450,000 for their game against Kansas State.

Go SDSU!

I attend several LSU games per year and they routinely pay 1AA teams $400,000+, I am pretty sure they paid the Citadel $500,000 last year. Playing a D1A powerhouse can be pretty lucrative.

In the St Paul Pioneer Press today, they said Minnesota was paid $150,000 to play at Ohio U last week. Expenses were $77,000.

Shooter:
Look for the Gophers to schedule Ohio University, whom they defeated 42-20 Saturday in Athens, Ohio, to schedule Ohio for two home football games and another in Athens for 2007-09. Minnesota received a $150,000 guarantee for Saturday's game. Gophers' expenses were $77,000.

I think NDSU could fork over $150,000 to the Gophers. Their travel expenses wouldn't be that much. Maybe the ticket prices could be raised to $27.50. I bet a lot of people would pay that much to see a Big 10 team in the Fargodome. ($27.50 X 19,500) - $150,000= $386,250. Not a bad payday for NDSU ;D.

I don't think every seat in the dome is a normal seat. How much are the red seats? What about the boxes?

Bisonguy

Red seats are the same as the blue ones. The padded blue ones in the first couple of rows are the same price as the red ones. The red seats are a hot commodity for the older people because of the extra cushioning.

Another article in the St Paul Pioneer Press today about guarantees for playing I-A schools.

Louisiana-Lafayette $250,000 to play at Minnesota
Troy St $275,000 at Minnesota
Florida A&M $400,000 at Florida
Middle Tenn St $1,000,000 for 2 games with Alabama

all those teams are D1A. I really doubt Minnesota would give us $250K....but i think it would be fun to play then anyway.

They should be extra because you get more. That's a bunch of BS. Take those stupid red things out of there then if they don't cahrge extra for them and load them up with normal blue seats. Seems like a no brainer to me.

The seats are in the Team Makers section. *That implies they are paying more for the seats to begin with. *Seat price + Team Maker membership. *Make it a higher level Team Maker seat.

BisonMav,

I think there are still a couple of sections that have the red seats that aren't TeamMakers sections. Most of the red seat sections were taken out to make room for the luxury suites. I think my section only has one row of the red seats before the luxury suites.

I can understand getting a red seat if you pay more for it. Not only do you have extra padding but you get more room per seat.
