Polls for Week September 29

For what it's worth, the Bison stand to move up a bit this week in the polls. Quite a few teams "above" them lost, including Duluth getting pasted by Northern State 34-7. Catawba got spanked by Wofford, but they're D1-AA. Everyone else seems to have beaten who they were supposed to beat.

Of course, the Susans will most likely move from #25 (a position well earned by their spanking of patsies Crookston and Dingleberry, um, Newberry, and Mesa State. oh wait... ;) ) to the top ten with their mauling of Augustana in what I'm sure was a packed house at Uncle Roger's pleasure palace. ::)

Which again goes to show, POLLS MEAN NOTHING. The only sad part is that these polls may cost the Bison yet another home playoff game.

UND won't be in the top 10.

NDSU better be ranked ahead of Central Muhzzzurrah, though.

Here's my "logic" on that:

NDSU beat SDSU 24-0
SDSU beat NWMSU 20-0
Therefore, NDSU would beat NWMSU 44-0

CMSU beat NWMSU 52-24. That's only a 28 point margin of victory, as opposed to a 44 point margin of victory by NDSU over a common opponent.

I was also going to say that NDSU should be ranked over Catawba, who lost in a rout to a barely ranked I-AA.

Anyhow, Don Hansen moves NDSU up. To quote my favorite poster on the AnyGivenSaturday site, "DA BISONS BE #12 WIFF DA BULLET! AAAWWWKKKK -A-DOOODLE-DO!".

Here's the D2football.com poll. Catawba should have dropped past NDSU, and of course NDSU has proven that they should be ranked ahead of CMSU, but they're at the #14 spot. Guess the Bison will have to keep winning.
