Does anyone know the URL of the SDSU webcast? The Forum seems to have f'd up the Bison webcast yet again. They switched back to Windows media and it is not compatible with my Mac Windows Media player, and the mp3 stream does not work.

Thanks. I found that one after I posted too. However, the Windows media Series 9 format bit me again. Oh well, I guess I will read about the game tomorrow.

Right now, the Bison have missed a long field goal (48 Yards) and the Bison defense has come up big so far in stopping the Jacks. It is nearing the end of the 1st quarter with no score.

Scott Walter sounds like he has a knee injury. SDSU punted NDSU to the Bison 16 yard line but NDSU is driving with a couple passes to the TE DelaBarre and a couple big runs by Malone and now at the 38 yard line of SDSU and driving.

The Bison get a 37 yard field goal on the same drive. NDSU 3 SDSU 0. Mid 2nd quarter.

Halftime, NDSU 10 SDSU 0. SDSU punted to NDSU after 4 plays and Stauss just takes a knee.

Very good first half for the Bison Defense. Now, hopefully the offense can get it together. The Bison get the ball to start the 3rd quarter.

Three and out for the Jacks. Actually, they lost about 4 yards and are punting. Deep punt but nice return by Burrell. Bison ball at the 30 yard line of their own.

SDSU drive stalls and they settle for a FG attempt but it is wide right. *Bison 17 Jacks 0. *

Bison run one play and now it is the end of the third quarter.

Since you've had the last 7 consecutive posts, thanks for the updates Kent -- there's at least one of us out here without access to the game paying attention. Don't tell anyone, but I'm rooting for the Bison on this one.

Bison are driving again after the missed FG by SDSU. Right now, the Herd are at the 17 yard line of SDSU.

Touchdown Rod Malone on a two yard run. The offensive line is wearing down the Jacks line and can get 3-4 yards on every play. NDSU 24 SDSU 0

SDSU just punted after a two first downs and NDSU takes over. SDSU had interference on Burrell and have the ball at 35.

Travis White just fumbled the ball after catching the ball. SDSU ball at the 39 of NDSU.

The Bison are stopped at the SDSU 36 yard line after several runs by both Malone and Steffes to get there. NDSU is punting and it went into the endzone.

Under 2:00 to go.

I'm still here too! Well, at least in between bedtime stories for my kids :)

Sounds like the Bison D is turning up big tonight.

Rushing Yards
NDSU- 132
SDSU- 10 *:o (They had -2 until a big scramble by their backup QB in the fourth)

Passing Yards
NDSU- 127
SDSU- 250

The Bison D made a team one dimensional again and field position was a huge part of the game.

The first Bison field goal was a fluke. It should have been a TD. There was a reception on the 2 yard line on third down, and the side judge called it a completion(He was two yards from the reception). Another ref then came up and overruled it.

Anyhow, a great win for the Bison. The offense was a little slow in the first half, but got going in the second. Defense was stellar.

It was a great game! Thought the defense was stellar! That is a lot of passing yards to give up though! That is probably our biggest weakness!

Way to go guys!

Can't wait to see what we can do againist MSU-Mankato!

KTF,

Remember Tusculum passed for over 300 yards. With only eleven yards rushing, SDSU's passing total was pretty meaningless. SDSU also started most of their drives deep in their own territory.

That's why stats don't mean a lot. I'd rather have the Bison have one eighty yard drive that ends up in the endzone, than twelve forty yard drives that end with a punt. Ex. 80 yards vs. 480 yards, but the score would be 7-0.

Agreed no arguement here except that score should be on the Jackrabbit side of the score board. ;D

*Correct me if I am wrong, but watching the rushing board in the FargoDome, Shepard did not add to the total after galloping 78 yards for a TD. Does the yards have to be the result of a offense play and not a turnover in order to be counted in the rushing total? *Just curious.

Indeed it does. Special teams and yardage gained by the defense don't show up on the offensive stats.

Stats dont mean a lot when taken individually, but when taken as a whole they do show a great snapshot of any team. That includes strength of schedule. I would imagine, and I havent checked it yet, but NDSU is allowing very few yds rushing, a lot of yds passing, but few scores. That tells me that the BISON have reduced opponents to 1 dimensional teams which is rarely effective unless your running the veer. Then, to be good, you have to show a lot of rushing yds, a lot of scores and a lot of posession time.
