Voting has started for the I-AA.org Game of the Week.

http://www.i-aa.org/survey.asp

There are plenty of Bison games on the ballot.

This vote doesn't really accomplish much, but 12 of the 13 I-AA Games of the Week last year ended up being on CSTV.

I will say that this vote does accomplish something, it lets TV execs know that there is a high interest in I-AA on TV.

Ralph,

My apologies. I stated that a little harsh, but I did say that 12 of 13 I-AA GOW were on CSTV. I'll try again. How about "There's no award or prize directly related to the Game of the Week(besides the obvious award of being named the I-AA Game of the Week), but there are lots of possible benefits not limited to possible national TV exposure and promotion of I-AA football."

I would also suggest that for those weeks that NDSU is not up for the GoTW, vote for a game that showcases some of our Great Western conference members such as SDSU, UNC, Cal Poly, UC Davis, or Southern Utah.

Bisonguy,
That's beautiful! ;D Oh, BTW, when I listed the NDSU games nominated I was in no way suggesting that homerism take over and for someone to go and vote for all NDSU games. I would suggest that you vote for the game each week that would be the best in I-AA and put I-AA in the best national spotlight. 20,000 screaming fans at a game looks better than 2,000 on TV. Same thing goes for seeing two good teams play each other rather than one good team playing a not so good one, etc.

Vote early and vote often.

I might have to sign up for the sports pack on DirecTV to get CSN if there are a few Bison games on. :)

sorry for the shameless self-promotion, I was so much skinnier back in 1999...or maybe it's the slimming qualities of 100% Rayon Hawaiian shirts...

Anyone at that game remember what the back of the sign said?

Interesting to see that the only game of the week that had a larger margin of victory was voted the game of the year. :o

the only problem with national coverage is that it is a very 'local' game, i do think that true DIAA football fans from around the country would like to see NDSU play though

I don't know about that. The game did win BIG in the poll and even if every Jackrabbit and Bison fan voted I don't think we would have won like that. I also offer up this post from eGriz.com:

Vote there too!

the flaws of determining game of the week are evident by the fact that Montana-Portland State is a pick!?

who wants to see that?

just as well watch NDSU v. Montana Tech

Here is part of Today's strory from the Sioux Falls Argus Leader:

http://www.argusleader.com/sports/Fridayarticle5.shtml

SDSU football game may be on TV

October's South Dakota State-North Dakota State football game has a chance to be televised nationally.

The game, which will be held Oct. 9 at Coughlin-Alumni Stadium in Brookings, was the top vote-getter for that week on a poll at www.I-AA.org.

The SDSU-NDSU game received 20.43 percent of the votes for the Week 6 game. That game also was sixth in the voting for Game of the Year.

Ralph Wallace, publisher of the Illinois-based Web site, said College Sports Television picked up five or six of the top choices last year in a partnership. This year, CSTV will take the poll into "heavy advisement," he added.

"I would not be surprised if it is chosen" to be televised, Wallace said.

The two schools, both entering their first year at the NCAA Division I-AA level, will be playing for the "Dakota Marker" trophy, which was initiated by the NDSU Blue Key chapter and the SDSU Student Association in April. . . .

It matters to me a lot. *Ill be there too but the game will be on the TV at the trailor and it will be recorded at home. Half time at the RV looking at the national feed would be great.*It will add a lot to the atmosphere too. *the only drawback would be showing the east stands. * ::)

If you NDSUers fill it up, it won't look as bad. ;)
