In previous years the Carson-Newman game would have been a marquee matchup... not just for NDSU but for all of DII. With the move to DI it didn't get the press it would normally have gotten.

I think there are a lot of Bison fans who don't know C-N is on the schedule yet. Should be a great game.

They are ranked 4th in the pre season DII poll by street and smith. *Not bad. *Its a big game, but like Tony says not as big as it would have been in yrs past. *Its a must win. *

Delta State is rated #3. *They travel to grand forks, so they will be the best DII team to play in North Dakota this year, if still ranked #3 when they arrive.

I think this is a good game for a transitional NDSU program. *It would have been better to play a major regional opponent like SDSU/Winona, but this aint bad for a great game. *

where are the Bison ranked in the preseason? who are ahead of delta state and c-n?

NDSU isn't ranked in any of the I-AA preseason polls. As a fan of a Division I football program, I don't keep track of the small college polls any longer. I don't know who is ahead of C-N and Delta State (GVSU probably #1, maybe St. John's is in there somewhere, the rest ??? ??? ???).

I hear the University of Mary is poised to crack the top 25. And und*'s new rivals (MSU-Moorhead) are looking to make some noise as well. But I'm with you Bisonguy, I don't pay much attention to the smaller schools anymore.
