CN 10

NDSU will run the ball all night long. And the second string defense will give up the touchdown.

The C-N coaches and players came into my workplace today and were chatting with a coworker. *He asked them what they thought about Saturday's game, and he responded with "I think we [C-N] will beat them by 20....well...maybe not 20 points, but we WILL beat them [NDSU]." *

Sounds confident...wonder what is up their sleeves?

Although CN will be a much tougher opponent, CSP was pretty cocky prior to the whoppin' at the dome last year.

Long post for game day morning! Conclusion NDSU by 11

Im looking for a game like last seasons Cal-Davis/NDSU game with Carson Newman being NDSU. We just didnt have enough and under the pressure of trying made some mistakes.

You have to stop the QB from using the cutback lanes. If you cant shut down the cutback lanes it will help open up the outside. If a defense isnt prepared one or the other will usually work. NDSU has a very good defense.

If the BISON were still a DII team I would say the injury to Erenberg would be a great sign for the success of the Eagles offense. But one guy isnt going to make the difference.

Joe Mays has 15 tackles, 10 solo and 5 ast. Thats exactly what Erenberg has too. Mays has great speed too. Right behind is Bill Wrigley with 8 tackles 6 solo 2 ast. Thats 8th overall.

Another great sign for the BISON is Craig Dahl at strong safety. He has 13 tackles and is going to get a lot of chances today. But what a tough bunch we have back there including Dahl, Gorman, Babich and Essler. with other guys hanging around like Kyle Ihry I think the Eagles will have a sub par day. I dont think they get the big play against the BISON as much as they are used to.

they Avg 43 pts/game and allowing 28.
they have scored 1 td through the air and avg 131 yds/game. NDSU avg 40 and allows 6.

Their rushing offense avg 366 yds/game They allow opponents 255 yds but only 5 TDS. They have scored 11 rushing tds.
NDSU is picking up about 270/game and allowing 103.

Their offense pumps out almost 500 yds/game but they give up almost 400 yds. this might not be a fair comparison though since their league has some great offenses.

they have converted 3 of 6 4th down conversions. They have confidence.

They are #1 in their league in red zone offense but 3rd to last in red zone defense.

they hold the ball for an avg of 26 min/game.

Team speed is probably equal but there may be some miss=matches. Im hoping our WR corps can set up several. The teams are equal when it comes to passing offense and NDSU has the #1 pass defense in the GWFC.

All you Carson Newman fans seem to have forgotten the main thing, NDSU isn't a division II team anymore. Looks like the game ended up an old-fashioned whipping. I hope that puts an exclamation point on the difference between division I-AA and division II. ;D

Oh by the way Maine beat Mississippi State today 9-7. I guess Northern Colorado isn't too bad Maine is just very good. :)

I do not think it changes the fact that D2 can beat D1AA in some cases. Valdosta ST. beat FL Atlantic a D1AA semifinalist last year. So it does happen. I'm sure in past you have beaten D1AA when you were D2.

It did not happen for CN last night, nor did I think we had a chance because of our horrible defense. Who knows if defense could of made a few stops early we may not have been blown out. However, I know D2 teams can play w/ D1AA. I've seen it before.

xcneagledb,

a lot of Bison fans will concur with you. *Many of us are still with fresh memories of our game against Montana last year. *D2 can beat D1 anyday, its not the number of scholies but the team that put the points on the board.
